Worst ways to crash

the worst that has happened to me is defs landing sideways overshooting, it gave me a pretty bad concussion at the end of last season. And honestly its not what u fall on its how u fall that makes the most difference, u could be buttering a roller and catch an edge, flip onto your head and break your neck, or u could overshoot the biggest jumper ever and be fine somehow

Overshooting an 80ft kicker onto your head.

If you land forward weighted make you you tuck and roll over your shoulder as forward twisting falls can fuck your knees right up.

or breaking your leg like my little brother did. he was 6 and he hit a powder patch and he got a spiral fracture cuz his dins were to high

overshooting a jump at the same time as overrotating a frontflip and landing on your head. then being knocked out for 2 minutes and not remember the whole next 3 hours and BOOM. your season is done

over shooting your landings - that feeling of being in the air, and knowing that when you land its going to hurt.
same idea is losing control in the trees or moguls, and that the only way this will end is by hitting something hard...

two years ago at blandford some kid got his sternum penetrated by a ski pole when he went off a jump. i have no clue how a ski pole would manage to get in that position but it did.

catching your tips on a backflip and faceplanting.. or going off a big cliff and landing on a flat icy landing

This isn't a worst way to crash, but the dumbest way I crashed was I had just hit a jump and landed and started skiing of with my poles hanging down, but one pole got stuck into the snow and I jammed my nuts into them and practically did a frontflip over my pole.

for me it is over shooting something really far. the crash itself may not be bad but it can ie: simon and tanner. but that feeling when you are in the air and knowing it is going to hurt and the land just falls out from under scares the shit out of me when im up there.

I know how you feel man, was going for the dub front but thought that I didn't have enough air and opened up after the first one...looked down and OMFG I still got another 4-5 metres to fall. So I tried to stop the rotation but ended up landing on my head and ploughing through the snow for like 15 meters with my head and shoulder. Ended my season but atleast it was the last day of park being opened so meh.

I also think that race crashes in downhill/super g are by far probably the gnarliest you can get. Wiping out doing 140km/h is not fun. I think the only thing that tops it off is tumbling down the rocks off the cliff.

This one always amazes me, and he walked away with barely any injuries:

tomahawking on groomer

sliding backwards on boxes/rails

two things that both scare the shit outta me and happen wayy more frequent than they should

what ever cause the crash... but when you crash.. you stop,,,, when you do not roll out of the crash

just like splat. the last big crash i had... fuck over shot a poppy 35 footer all the way to flat. prob when 70 on the whole shebang.. and when i landed.. i went splat.! fucking broke my tailbone and fucked my back up pretty bad. but i did not break it.. and i am lucky to be walking from the way i crashed

My 2 worst crashes this year:

1) Catching my edge while filming and going mach 27 and hip checking on straight ice.

2) Trying a lincoln and landing on my face

Last year:

Overshooting the piss out of a 7 and landing backseat at the bottom of the landing, tearing my ACL off the bone. (If anyone saw Alexi crash at the Killy Dew Tour in practice, it is the exact same thing I did)
