i'd say the worst thing about being a racer is those poles. It looks like they could hurt pretty bad if they smacked you in the face. or the ass.

NO way, the worst thing about being a racer HAS GOT TO BE the spandex suits. IT's like wearing nothgin at all :D! lol. i hater thouse.... SOOO MUCH. i had costum made racing poles for awhile (costum means i landed on them so many times they were bent up like racing poles.) see, you could just give me your straight poles and i could make them racing poles for free, instead of spendning another 50 bucks on the fancy smancy curves. Good Day all ;)

yeah i wear spandex, being a racer in all. and i never called you gay, just the kid who said racing is gay. i know i definitely dont like to watch guys walking around in spandex. i swear though every single racer chick is hot, its incredible...

this is a really dumbass thread but it brought me back to my racing days. i never felt gay in the spandex suit but i hated standing around at the start line freezing my ass off. i hate waiting when i'm skiing period. spandex suits are worn so you can go faster. hauling ass is cool, right?

Now come on now...Its fucking dumb to hate. other skiers, give props where its due...Ive seen racers tear up the park and freestyle kids haul ass on a course - Doing both also makes you a better skier, the day i learned 360 was one of my best racing days...

 
you guys don't fucking understand. you all hate on racers, but most racers rip it up in the park hella good. the difference between a racer and some park-dwelling punks, is that when they are out of the park, racers can actually ski. read a ski magazine. look how many freeskiers were racers in the past.

 
WOW! I haven't checked on this the thread haha. ok; alpentalik, Pipe_Munky, Saloman, Sean14456, HINT163, freeskiing04, schlonginator, firstdescent you guys all don't understand that a joke is a joke. I could have switched racer with skier in general or basically anything. I raced for 5 years before i really pushed myself in the park. It made me a better all-around skier. I quit racing because theres no progression in it, its the same shit just different days. whatever have your oppinions about me but i know i can ski anywhere on any mountain, including out of bounds.

can't go 130+ with out the spandex, this goes out to all you racer haters if you ever try a Downhill you will understand that it isn't that bad at all, Anyone thats going to be in Whistler over spring break (next week) go check the Canadian Nationals out, watch the downhill, you will see how insane fast it is. I can't wait to try the course out. Also all the racers there are the top in canada and i can bet that at least 75% of them will spend all the time there not on the course in the park or ripping the mountain up, Don't diss it untill you try it

For me personally and dont crucify me for this I think racing would take the fun out of skiing for me I just ski for fun and having to compete would involve pressure and stress the two things I ski to get away from.....

the message i get from this is that most racers are cocky bastards, and for sure all you racers can ski better than anyone, or so you say in almost every post, so give your head a shake and take a joke before you shoot your mouth off about skiers who dont race.
