Worst ski area

haha dude no way. Hickory Hills tc. all rope tows and didnt open till mid dec. easily the shittyest hill in MI

which alpine is this? Cuz if its the ohio one, I dont think the MI one is much better they were just closed not sure if their bakc up yet...?

Alpine Valley is what we're talking about. It really is the work ski area in the world. Somehow I still love it though.

Alpine Valley has no jumps and when we do they can only be a certain size. We're closed, but hopefully we will re-open this week. Last year we didn't open until mid-january.

Apple Mountain.

Sure some of the mom and pop operations with just rope tows might be crappy but at least they have some charm. Apple Mountain fucking sucks.

Yea dude brighton is one of the best around se mi it def beats pine knob and alpine i havent been to many other places but im sure they better.

TIMBER RIDGE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do not go there even if it is life or death!!!!!!!!!!! the scraub brothers are also huge COCKS!!!!!!!!

Dude... when did you turn into such a bitch... just man up and work with what you've got, Ripley's jumps might not be exactly what you want but I'd put them in the top 5 in Michigan.

currently there are 2 5 foot jumps. that is all. no more. and 1 trap box, and 1 flat box. don't call me a bitch skeeze. it's feb. almost and there are 2 jumps. everything else is just mounds of snow that have been sitting for over a month. I promise. Ripley has dope steeps, trees, and powder this year. So who needs a park?

I agree with Gavin. Ripley's park is pretty weak right now. There's a lot of potential but not much has happend. That being said, the snow has been prime this year and the new lift makes skiing the east side way easier. Only issue is that it gets skied out way faster now. All in all, there are a lot worse areas in Michigan and the rest of the midwest.

didnt they just make two monster table tops to the left of the yellow double?

i was up there for a race last week and they were working on them...they looked pretty sick

no jumps there, just mounds that have been there for months, and oh yaeh, that 15 foot tall lip? i have no idea what that means, you can come hit it if you want but i don't see how, as there are no jumps leading to it.

Ya the mounds have been there since december and no work is ever done on them.

Yesterday they decided to redo the rail park and it sucks again. Still no jumps.

It was solid ice yesterday since they didn't groom. At least it is snowing now. Ripley has been very sad this year.

Thats ridicules that those jumps haven't been shaped yet! Last time I was up there (a month or two ago) they looked about ready shape...that sucks. Does Marquette at least have a decent jump line this year?

marquettes line is pretty dope, worth the trip, less kinky than last year, this time when you throw 7's your skis will stay on.

Haha, we have a legitamate bowl and actual pow days, plus there are some gladed backcountry runs and ungroomed pow runs. As for jumps theres a 35, 20, 15, and 45 foot tables as well as the water tower kicker which gives you a good 35 feet into a nice powder slope...not to mention you can drop into the bowl and drop down 15 to 20 feet vertically. The only thing ripley doesn't have is newbie jumps

yeah dude, this shit showed up yesterday.... it was fun, sweetspot blows, general consensus, a milion gallons of water wasted. nice to know pete spent over a month working on the least used jump at the hill for the second year running. i'd like to know where the kickers are though... the last i checked there was the one after sweet spot which is 30, and the 2 side by side on danny boy, 30-35 and maybe 20 both with more wutang than i care for, but if you're into sky rocketing it's cool. the moto booter at the bottom of the steep part of danny boy is a great butter box, but not a functional jump. pete wasn't even hitting the jumps on danny boy which means he was either not liking them or is waiting to get hurt on them and let the park go to shit again. the jump after sweet spot is def. ok, i was able to do some 3 octo grabs over it but i'm sure as hell not trying corked 5's or 7's over it because i am a bitch and think that falling from 15 feet up over the landing on a 35 foot jump is retarded. maybe over 60 footers, but thats a level price to pay.

I ask for 1 mellow jump that will be the most used jump there and it won't happen. go ride mqt, the lips for the 70 foot jumps are smaller than the lips for the 30 foot jumps at ripley. it's all skiable but if you're into doing penciled out tricks you're not riding park in the first place. Andrew is a true badass and can talk all the shit he wants by the way, but like i siad, i'm not into paying a bigger price than i need to.

ripley is good for skiing, not park, and especially not rails end of story.

and the two foot tall two foot tall water tower kicker? are you serious? i mean i learned how to flip on that a few years ago, but that is not something to write home about... you need to learn who you're talking trash to.

i had a lot of FUN riding at ripley with friends. The jumps on danny boy were the definition of sketch but the sweet spot and one after that were decent. Yeah they aren't mellow at all and you have to bomb the most of the hill to hit it, but i've seen alot worse in my travels this winter. i've also seen a lot better at ripley

That is the key. There used to be a sick jump line and a good rail setup.

It has just been disappointing this year with nothing for progression. it is either to small or to big.
