Worst Segment of a Ski Movie for 06

ns was NOT made for bashing in fact it is the worst thing to happen to ns so i say no one bashes and we let this die as a sign of affection to one another
 
I think this is a good thread! Maybe instead of Worst segment of a ski movie, we could think of it as: "Constructive criticisms of the ski movies this year."

I'll start with:

Overall, the music in most ski movies this year was original. However, it seemed to all be exactly the same sort of indie/emo/europop music... a lot of it seemed to be more artsy than good.

I give a shoutout to TGR for using crystal method-esque (or maybe it was them) electronic. I liked that.
 
the only thing i didn't really get was why they let Tanner talk so long in TBC. and the line "i'm one of the most active kids in the world and taking that away from me was like taking away the medicine from a dying person." shut up, Tanner. the two aren't even on the same level. saying that being injured and needing to recover is on par with dying of cancer or something as horrible as that is just stupid. yeah, it sucks, but there probably isn't much that would even come close to comparing to how awful it would feel to realize you're going to die a slow and painful death. aside from that, i thought that this year's batch of movies was really well done.
 
Tanner rainville and CR's segments in pop yer bottlez were both aweful. The attempts at being artistic or whatnot by introducing all those graphics didn't do anything except take away from the movie.

The selection of music was also wather bad (in my opinion, not necisarily yours)
 
Ironically I'd have to say Tanner Urban Segment in TBC was the most disapointing, especially compared to his BC and actual skiing footage. I can't beleive I'm saying this but I couldn't beleive my eyes either when I saw it. Plus he bitched up and had to beat out Morrisons "I'm a whiny little bitch" segment from Yearbook. At least he can ski now, he killed it on the JP's.
 
yea tanner rainvilles segment was soooo overdone, especially with the sequence dealys, it looked like a blur hitting a jump and i didnt like that, but what i could see was nice. not the worst, but not great
 
how about lil bow wow or whatever the fuck kye peterson used in pop yer bonerz??? i am convinced that was the worst ski video ever made.
 
jon mcmurry in general makes me want to kill myself. you'd think he'd learn how to ski one of these years. i cant watch the olenicks segment in war just because of the god awful nancy sinatra song though. that killed any flow and consistancy the movie had.
 
are you kidding me...that song fits the segment so well. and depending on your definition of 'flow,' war didn't really have any to begin with.
 
any segment in PYB was pretty fucking gay, appealed to 12 year old virgin wiggers. On a side note about the TBC interveiw on tanner, while watching it I decided Tanner would be a respected icon in the ski industry if he was born a mute.
 
yeah man the song is quality stuff! of anything WAR need that song to help boost moral with the troops
 
YES! His segment had such high quality skiing, but the fact that he 1.) used sean paul, and 2.) danced around like a complete retard made it almost unbearable. I wince every time I see him dancing. If your gonna waste my time with that shit, at least know how to do a dance other than waving your arm at the camera
 
i dont see why people hate on kye so hard, like since hes a pro skier he should be the most mature kid in the world. so what if he wanted to put lil bow wow in his seg, hes young, and thats his taste thus far in life. hes also a sick as skier, and gets my respect for that.
 
I'd like to say to all you guys saying that these movies suck was your segment better in that movie? Are you getting paid to ski?
 
have you even seen the movie? I thought it was gona suck too, but after watching some of it i thought it was actually pretty funny. sure the skiing isn't top notch newschool jibbery but it's deff. not the worst movie ever made.
 
the worst thing in skiing in 06 is people hating on the apparant "hip hop influenced skiing" when in reality it has nothing to do with music, it just looks good.

quit bitching that people wear pants twice the size of yours. it looks good. shutup about it.

don't hate on the pyb soundtrack, at least they tried to be different frmo this years movie. every other movie feels like your at an indie/emopop/euro pop show. at least pyb is different.

i havent seen tbc or pyb yet, but i was disapointed in every ski movie this year. there wasn't much progression from last year in terms of bc hits and rails. im waiting on tbc though, that could be the saviour. other than that, skiing has not gone in the direction where i thoguht it would go 2 yeras ago when forward came out and 1242.

better luck next year i guess. snowboard movies here i come again.
 
^ different isn't always better, it would be "different" to play all pop country in a ski movie, yet it would suck as bad as PYB soundtrack.
 
pep fujas in hit list was kinda week cuz the whole segment was just one trip and they didnt show him doin any tricks which i always thought he was really good at...other than that tanner in tbc and cr and rainville in pyb
