Worst Job for a ski pass?

Just wondering what the worst job any one has done just to reap the benefit of an employee pass...

Over winter break from college this year I'm going to be doing parking duty going from 6am-1pm four days a week on friday, saturday, sunday, monday... damn 5am wake up will be rough especially when its cold as fuck...

You'll still get to ski everyday, and will have the best days (tuesday, wednesday, thursday) to ride all day. Not that bad in my opinion.

I had to wake up at 4:45 every saturday and sunday morning to get to my ski bus by 5:30 so that i could instruct.

great job with half decent pay, so I'm not complaining. Though it did kill my social life for the winter, it was worth it.

i guess it depends on the resort, i havent experienced this personally, but apparently at private resorts where skiers drop five figures for membership people will act like they own you.

honestly working at a resort all season just for a free pass is dumb. if you need the money too that's one thing, but if you just want a free pass then get a regular job right before the season starts, work for a few weeks, and BAM, you've got enough money for a pass and can ski any day you want the rest of the season. Maybe even work that job part time throughout the season a few days a week to have more spending money too. You can get much higher paying jobs that aren't at a resort.

Although my sister worked at a coffee shop at Copper and that job was dope because the pay was decent, the job was easy/kinda fun, and for the most part she just worked friday/saturday/sunday which are the worst days to ski anyway. I guess if you can get good hours like that then it's pretty sweet.

ok its not me but a freind just got the best job ever, free pass all season 7 days a week and even in peak season and holidays... what does he do, hooks up with the daughter of eliot the resort manager. keep it going adam if ur on hear n dont fuck her about, its a season pass dude who cares if she's a bit chub chub.. hahaha

agreed. dishwashing is ill because noones really depending on you that much so you can go out and shred for half the day or more usually.

that still doesnt compensate for the fact that you have the worst job ever. id honestly rather do something useful and that requires some level of intelligence or at least interraction with people other than standing for hours on end in the back of a shitty chicken tender smelling lodge washing plastic trays for 6 hours by yourself.

Dishwashing sucks, but depending on how much you want to ski...it can be a good thing. I was a ski instructor at mammoth for a year, it was a great decision to go there, but the worst to be a ski instructor. You get your ride breaks as a liftie or a parking attendant, but you also watch a steady flow of gapers flood the slopes on a pow day. A night job is the best advice i could come up with if you are devoted to skiing.

liftie by far. at vail resorts you CANNOT ski park on your breaks. Bellperson is a great job. I work that now and i ski 4times a week AT LEAST in breck. I can thank bitchassflat for the recommendation.

Snow maker. You work at night and your on a big mountain basically by yourself. and plus youd never get to ski because when you work its usally like close to like 6 in the am them you go home sleep and wake up at like 6 or 7 and have maybe 1 or 2 hours to ski.

i am a ski instructor at afton alps. I love my job. its defenitely worth it. I get to set my own hours, I get big discounts, I get a free season pass, and I get to ride almost every day of the week......jea!

I work as a liftie at CB, it's not too bad except I'm doing 5 days a week and you don't get to ski during the day except for on your break which is at the most 1.5 hours. The pay blows actually, but the associates pass is almost worth it because it's basically a free season pass to 13 resorts.

Washing dishes at the mountain restaurant would suck.

Being a lifty was a good time though, i miss it.

no way man you dont make snow all session long so it sucks for the first bit but after that free pass and probably a better job after that

ski instructing is awesome, i dont do it to much anymore but i still have an offer from the mountain to work there on my winter breaks

oh my balls im lucky. i spend a weekend with 6 year olds and get a free season pass. i get up at 9, and get to the mountain by 10 for it.

i don't see the point in working for a mountain. get a job before the season and work a couple weeks and you can pay for your pass. or maybe work when it's not ski season, and you can pay for everything plus save money for ski season. or i think the best on is to get a part time job for the whole season, it will pay for your pass and you will get extra $$$ for shit...
