Worst injury skiing?

well my friend broke his femur in half, in a half pipe... so thats pretty bad. had to have a rod in it with like 8 screws and like 6 pins...

Not really an injury but i was skiing some trees and i took a corner really fast and a branch hit me in the mouth and i chipped my front tooth

i broke my tibia on like a 10 ft jump on the side of a trail when i was like 13 or 14 it was bullshit... 3rd day of the season too...

we were in vermont. smugglers notch last year me and my buddy were screwin around and he didnt put up the pull down bar and at the lase second he pushed it up and i came dwon and hit me in the face lol. nothing bad actually just a busted lip lol.just afunny story then when my mom came up i hade eclpise gum and pretended it was my tooth lol hahaha

BRO!!! i broke my sternum too.. hurt so bad, probably the worst pain of my life. when it happened i thought i was having like a heart attack, cuz i couldn't breathe without it killin.. but yeah couldn't breathe well for about half a year... it was ugly. they can't do much for sternums, so they wrapped it up and put me on pain meds.

my girlfriend blew out both her knees in one fall. She had patellafemoral chrondo-malatia which is continual tearing of the cartilage under the knee cap which is pretty much the rarest knee injury you can get and she had medial meniscus tears.

i have a correction to make... she had patellafemoral condro malatia but the cartilage would like keep tearing... so she had three surgeries and then was in CPM machines for two weeks...and was skiing less than a year later... pretty bad ass if you ask me

my coach last year (brendan bouchar if any of you old guys remember who that is) well he blew his knees multiple times, has had like 6 surgeries, i think he said he busted both his acls both his mcls once or more than once each. and he busted one of the other ones that isnt really common.

as for myself the worst thing is probably a bruised lung, or i partially tore the ligaments in both my thumbs which led to two casts. i couldnt do shit all for like a week.

my dad has ripped both his acl's and mcls'

\as for me, just a couple broken ribs, bruised kidney, broken nose, nothing to bad

Middle finger left hand, first day of trip, just lots of tape and motrin for 4 more days.

Left leg tibia in the half pipe

Left wrist off a hip

Torn rotator cuff catching on a C-rail, although that one was snowboarding, it ended up getting to about 60 that day and I think I was sticking to the snow. Here is the video

2 concussions

The best is when people go 'AND YOU STILL SKI/SNOWBOARD?!?!?!@?!?!' and I just look at them liek retards and say of course.

last season, i tore ligaments in my left thumb on my lunch break while i was working at a ski resort in colorado and just said i fell while i was at work so work paid for the cast and then 8 days later i tore ligaments in my right thumb (damn sticks that i carry with me ;) ) on my day off, just iced it, went to work the next day and my crew leader wrote me up a report that it happened at work so i claimed the cast and hospital bill on work cover but this time the management wasnt as believing of my story...

but they couldnt prove it so i got away with it!! :)

trick is, if you get a thumb cast, get them to C shape it so you can still jam the sticks against the cast...

didnt miss a day even with both casts on...

:)

well i havent really hurt myself that bad.But last year i did this double daffy and when i was bringing my skis back in the air to do the second daffy my skis were in a screamin semon position so both skis blew of in mid air which made me off balence and i landed on the top of my body and face and sscorpioned and i could barly walk and ive had back problems ever since.

the worst i've had so far was at the end of this past season, last day of riding in fernie on our annual trip west i landed on my shoulder when i failed to un-cork and dislocated my shoulder, tore my bicep, and broke my coracoid avulsion. then on top of that i couldnt go to camp of champions that i had saved up for 2 years to do.

Calcaneus is a bitch (heel). I cased a table last April and it has been 6 months and It still feels the same way it felt after 2 weeks of heeling (which kills) and the doc says I most likely cant shred this year.

Oh and by the way, If anyone has any icing techniques or anything that would be much appreciated. But the doc says all you can do is wait, and he said it would be about a year until healed

i havent had an actual injury, but like most skiers, my kness havent blown out yet, but they just have weird tension like constantly from stomping stuff. it mostly came from one incident when i didnt see a dip and i was on my fuja(the noodles)tives so they just bent with the dip and it was basicaly like running into a wall knee first

but thats about it

popped my acl and meniscius my sophmore year of high school on a hip, wasnt as bad as i thought blowing a knee out would be, managed to ski down. it happend in april and i got to ski the next season, so it wasnt that bad.

i tore the ligements in my left hand, since then in the last 8 months (including the first time) i have torn them 5 times, my thumb is now a half an inch shorter than the other :( and i have to ski no poles.

Well two years ago I was skiing and my tips crossed, then I hit a rock right in between my skis. My skis ejected and I did a front flip. That was pretty bad but I didn't get hurt.

Then I got a concussion from hitting my head on some ice.

BUT THE WORST by far was happened about a month ago. I was hitting my PVC rail and I fell and landed on my thumb and sprained it pretty badly. That hurt like a mother, it wouldn't go away for about 2 weeks.

bruised kidney and two fractured ribs.....

5 fractured vertebrae, and a small fracture in my pelvis. miraculously i didn't need surgery, and yes, i would make the suggestion that someone upstairs was watching out for me, because when you overshoot a 60' table (give or take some, it was like 4 years ago) clear the landing, land on your back, need to be airlifted from the hill to the hospital, break 5 vertebrae and your pelvis and DON'T need surgery, its gotta be more then just luck.

broke my collar bone in the pipe. 3 weeks later while it was still healing broke it again by just casing a jump. two weeks later broke it on a handrail agian. then a couple weeks later broke it again on a hip. so all in all i broke it 4 times in like 8 weeks.

i broke my thumb snowboarding "glades" behind my neighborhood. i then broke it again 1.5 years later skiing my friends summer setup. i've never had any injuries on a mountain, just on shitty backyard stuff.

also shatered a thumb and broke the other thumb. broke some fingers. and a wrist. thats most off my injurys.

torn mcl, broke my tibia, and have had at least 2 concussions.

but my friend was hitting a snowmobile tow in jump on the main street of our town, overshot the landing , landed on his shoulder/head,compound fractured his humerous at the shoulder joint, broke 3 ribs and had a massive concussion, and was in the hospital for over a week.

hey i fucked my collar bone too! did you get to were the figure 8 strap? sleeping sucked hard for about a month or so.

I had the biggest, purplest bruise ever covering my whole left ass cheek after landing on my ass on solid ice trying a 3 off a tiny jump. At schoo, I had to sit on half the chair for like 2 weeks.

Umm when i was 4 or so I broke my leg, Fucked my collar bone up good a couple years ago, that was pretty fun. My nose has been broken a couple times, once when I hit a tree, another time pole plant that went wrong. Fingers, toes sprained and broken...

The most fucked up thing I ever saw was at Mount Snow. It was wicked icey (odd for the east right) and some girl came hauling ass down some slope, she ate shit on some ice right before the lift, slide under the gate that tthey had up and right into the first pole. I swear to god I heard her back crack, she was fucken screaming and what not. It was so fucken scary.

bro im sorry man!!

that sucks so harcore!

unless your just sayin that to sound like your a hard ass, in which case i think your a douche for claimin like that...
