Worst day ever!!!

there's no way i would be pissed. I don't have the right to. I would much rather trust a ski patroller whose basic requirements are to be trained to the level of an emergency medical technician.

Think of it this way: it would be perfectly plausible if you had gotten up, skied around a bit more, and all of a sudden blacked out somewhere, I know many a person who this has happened to. Ski patrollers procedurally don't make patients sign refusal forms if they don't transport the patients, unlike ambulances. If you had out and out refused treatment, then blacked out, and ended up in the hospital, a preying lawyer could catch wind of your case, and have grounds for a great lawsuit against the resort. Their premise- ski patrollers didn't do their job to help you out, so the resort should be sued. Bad call.
 
but there are ways of testing for a concussion ON slope, such as dialated pupils, and other things (im a little fuzzy on my first aid) so they should have tested him more extensively (and from his story, professionally) before detaining him

^if i were you miniripper (if you can drive) take your skis go home get a new outfit and come back and ski....this would only work if you live close but i have never heard of ski patrol like this before......honestly did you have a concussion

yeah WTF? This guy had a terrible day. I guess no one has the right to complain unless they are starving in uganda and suffering from aids.

That really sucks dude. I can't believe they made you feel like you were in trouble just for trying to ski. That story really made me mad. I find someone, a higher up, at the ski area(who is not ski patrol) and complain.
 
and i'm a former ski patroller, now i work for a county run ambulance service. That's screwed up. How old are you? did ski patrol ever make contact with your parents? If you are under 18, they should have obtained consent from your parents or directions to release you. They have no right to take control of your whole day. If they thought there was really a problem, they should have sent you to a real doctor. Did you ever see one?
 
dude i usually respect most of the things you post but why the fuck are you giving the patrollers the benefit of the doubt? I completely disagree with everything you've posted here, you don't even know the entire story and you're immediately taking the patrollers side?
 
your a fucking homo, suck a dick heath. He knew he didn't have a concussion so going back out into the park is not a big deal. If you know your not hurt, and its obviously apparent then ski patrolers arn't supposed to help you. Seemed to me that it was pretty apparent he was fine. When you tell a patroler your fine there supposed to ask twice then leave you alone.

 
I suppose working at a ski resort, knowing a lot of ski patrolers, and realizing how much liability and safty issues a ski resort has to go through is why im taking my opinion. It just seems like kids like this just making these peoples jobs worse. Now granted i don't know the patrolers at his mountain, just at mine. And if that kinda thing would have happened at my mountain, i would def taking the patrolers side because the patrolers here aren't power tripping ass holes, which there are plenty of at other resorts (*cough*copper).

But its true, i might not know the entire story, but he has seemed to tell it all, but what is also true is from what is sounds like, he just did what they wanted and didn't really take any of his own actions to stop them other than leaving the hut after they told him to stay and taking his skis back. I still don't get how he was forced into the sled and down the mountain, most people i know would have just skied away.
 


He fell on a rail, not hard, and the patrollers were all like OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG CALL AN AMBULENCE while he just sat there and said he was fine...they made him go in a stupid cart thing for no reason cause he was walking around anyway. After he went to the ski partoller building thing they asked if he was gunna go home, he said no i want to ski. So they cliped his ticket and wouldnt reimburse him. So kelly was like fuck that and the park staff gave him a ride up, then this ski patroller on snowblades got up in our grill. We had to hide kellys skis so the guy wouldnt take them. And this other full time ski patroller said the guys who are after kelly were weekenders and dont really know what they were doing. Then an on hill chase insued and he hid in the chalet...then some guy thinking he was the boss came in and made a HUGE scene infront of everyone. They held his skis and if he took them back, they would charge him for theft, and if he went skiing, for trespassing.

Understand now?

The ski patrollers were ASS'

true, but that is an intense story... I would have had my mom bail me out of ski patrol prison... haha
 
i tried to get my mom to bail me out and they said its your moms call and she said i was aloud to go skiing but then there like no your not going its still our call ,,i was like its my moms decsion and there like its our resort and your mom doesnt own the resort..and this small asain guy said that and im like my mom pwns you though...and then he walked away im like betch..and hes like i heard that i was like ahahah..
 
to whoever said that the patroller(s) had just reasons and that it was totally fair, put yourself in his shoes (or ski boots for this matter) do you want some old fat guy pushing you around cause you bumped your head? you think you're being all reasonable about it but if you were in his situation we probably wouldn't see a thread from you about how well the ski patrol handled the situation and how much fun you had sitting on your ass the whole day complying to everything they said
 
Some patrollers are chill, but the fact is that alot of them are totally power tripping assholes. If anyone tried to force me into a sled, take my skis or lock me in a room I'd probably have to be pulled off a bitch.
