Went to tranny to the side of a jump from the kicker, went too hot and just bounced my head off the ground from however many feet off the ground. Out cold, and ended up with a concussion. Luckily I had a helmet on

At killis turkey jam this year I went to shifty to sw over the down of a flat down (staggered with a ball between) and landed sideways, smacked my head on the awesome artificial snow and knew I was probably somewhat concussed, smoked and took a few chill hits. Had a helmet on and later that night the doc said I was concussed but not no need for mri...took a week or 2 off.

Then tried switch tails 2 onto the carinthia mamba and pretty much blew up under rotating and splitting it, and smacked my knees against it and tweaked one, nice 2-3 week break in December on a reinjured LCL.

OH shit! You almost hit your head as hard as I did!

I have been telling this story a bunch:

So my 2nd weekend at hood this spring I hit my head the hardest I ever had. Worst crash in 5 years probably. I am going to skip a few parts, but it was really a snow ball effect. It all starts with the first run. I get in the lift line and hop on the chair. Snowboarder next to me pulls out a dab pen and passes it. I don't take shit for free so I pass out some good vibes and a few stories. Turns out one of the guys on the lift is who I parked next to my first day. We stop by their backpack, pass out some beers, and slam it on the next lift ride up. Stop for a piff out of the park and I am really feeling it now. Cutting across the park and hitting any feature I want. Lots of cool features and little tricks. Almost kill myself on the flat left down barrel rail because I didn't see the down section from the approach. So this next run we decide to take the high road with the jibs to the small jump line and then cut back to the rail section. I forget that snowboarders need to strap in and just start charging. No speed check necessary either. Throw a 3 on the first jump that wash out into a 5. Stomp a sw 1. Then the third and last jump is twice the size of the first and I landed halfway down the landing. I wound up exactly like I did on the first jump and I was just thinking of a 3. The jump is bigger so I over rotate a 5. I suck balls at switch landings still so I borderline go into impact mode. Landed on a 90 and did a sideways scorpion and smack my head into the soft slushy snow. Got a bloody nose that was just slowly dripping. Just sat down on the side for a bit hoping the snowboards would see me and stop for a minute. I end up taking the cat track back to the car to rest for a bit. Chat to a few people to make sure I am not out of my mind. Recline the seat and rest for a bit. Close my eyes for a bit and remember that I should not sleep. Open my eyes and everything is a little blurry... am I concussed? My Jiu-Jitsu instructor said probably not. I don't think it was anything to worry about. By this time OregonDead shows up in the parking lot so we chat for a bit. We see Palmer open and then take a few casual laps for the rest of the day.

First time sending the wave big this season, went large, bystanders said 15 up 60 long. Landed a bit forward topside on a mogul. Full ragdoll but turned it into a sidespin after two tomahawks. Escaped with a sprained hip, only out for 2 weeks. Pretty lucky I guess.

I can literally hear the soul exiting your body.. for me it was dislocating my elbow after like 5 attempts on a rod 5

wish I had a video, but basically I was mobbing down a narrow ungroomed trail early season and skied into a ditch with my weight forward, managed to not pancake onto the ground right away but hit a mogul a couple feet later and tomahawked. Came out alright, must have looked real funny for my friend who was following me.

tried to do a little nollie off a short rainbow box. sounded easy enough for a first lap of the day. didnt realize how far it would kick me forward and ended up landing really heavy on the noses of my skis. bit straight through my tongue.

Worst crash: Got cut off and caught an edge trying to scrub speed. Caught my edge on something and tomahawked a few times into a rock garden. Only one ski came off so my knee felt a little tender going forward.

Worst Accident: I was on a pair of 2019 Prodigy 3.0's that a rep lent me, I aired a cat-track into what I thought was just really mank snow. I didn't fall but I felt a little hooky at the top. When I popped the skis off after a few runs I had two MASSIVE core shots, one on each ski. Seriously, the two biggest core shots I've ever had. I guess there must have been rocks... I paid to have them repaired really professionally but it was still the worst feeling I've ever had seeing the damage I'd done to skis that weren't mine.

Sent a 50 footer pretty damn close to the flat, somehow drifted sideways in the air so I landed 90. Tumbled sideways, somehow my knees were perfectly fine. Wish it was on video.

Sent a 3 too deep off a cliff last day at breck, over rotated and landed sideways. Took a chunk out of my femoral cartilage, separated lateral miniscus, torn medial miniscus, torn ACL, impact fracture on tibia, sprained MCL. I wish I got video of it cause it was pretty gnarly. 3 weeks post op today still on crutches non weight bearing. 6 month total recovery time. Hopefully I’m back on skis by next season!

Funny my worst crash was just 3 says ago on jump #2 of Mile Park I thought I landed good but then before I knew I was double ejected and now I have a badass burn up my neck and on my chin.

Half of the times when I fall aggressively on my left side I dislocate my shoulder. So every other fall is the worst.

Few years back I lost a ski mid air on the last inferno jump, escaped amazingly but never heel clack 20 ft in the air. Even knuckling it too my tails hurt this year, thing l seems big but then doesnt, but really is.

uhh 10ish foot cliff. I didn't snow check and there were two un-covered snowmaking tubes. Landed with my back on one and right on my tailbone on the other. really scary

Caught an edge going relatively fast and broke my tibia. Had to ride in the back seat of my friends truck from whilster back to Washington with my leg barely supported by a splint.

Hooked into the dick on a DFD donkey Z tube when spinning out. Broke my collsrbone and helmet and got a mellow concussion.

Not too bad of a crash but I try not to push things to hard and try to never fall.

Threw the most fucked attempt at a cork 7. Did not come around to my feet.

I hit this DFDFD at my mountain and slid the whole thing first try. I was hyped and super confident. I went up to try it again. 2nd try I slip out, split my knee open and then slide down the rest of the rail on my chest. I had to get 8 stitches in my knee and broke 2 ribs.

Was warming about 10 minutes before a rail jam was supposed to start at the home hill in Minnesota, went to attempt this transfer rail that was a flat rail and then a down rail past it and a little to the side. Park crew had the two rails pretty tight together and on my second time trying it, I caught my back ski on the front of the second rail. It pulled my body down and I slammed my face onto the rail and took the majority of it on my nose there was blood everywhere and my friends were freaking out. I had ski patrol clean me up and went and competed in the rail jam. Didn’t win shit (not that I would have anyway) and found out a week later my nose was broken

I got two here - One didn't get hurt but scared the living fuck out of me and the other gave me my 5th concussion

First, the scared shitless one. It was actually Christmas day last season and Mt Bachelor was suuuper dead. Everybody enjoying the holidays, most normally groomed runs didn't get groomed so there was a light dusting of 2" on top. Pretty dope day all things considered. At the time, I had WhipIts from Jskis (fuckin noodles man...got rid of them soon after for something stiffer) and had only ridden them once before so they were new to me. Took a few easy laps down Skyliner in the park, lift line and cliffhanger so I had a feeling of them pretty good. Im used to stiffer big mtn skis so I may have felt a little too confident on these 178cm noodles... I get the bright idea to try and gap the first part of Cliffhanger. Cliffy is a trail that is often the race course at bachelor so its high speed and super rolly. The first part of the trail from the lift is a high speed, wide trail down and then the rollers start. So, with my idea, I wanted to launch myself off the top of the first one and transfer 70-85ft to the bottom of another that is just on the right hand side of the trail. With nobody on the mountain, fresh wax on my skis, and a soft landing, why not right? So I start mobbing, little tuck here and there just blasting through the light snow. I come up to the top of the roller and launch near perfect. As I spot the landing, I see its windblown and as soon as the powder blows off the crest I see that its just sheer ice underneath. Fuck... I put down the landing gear and as soon as I land the tails fold and slip out on the ice. POW! My ribs and side of my dome get smashed into the icy landing and I slide down for a good while, double ejected and cold as fuck in my unwaterproofed Christmas onesie. Luckily no concussion from this one but a cracked rib and definitely alot of bruising. Took one more lap and my ribs killed so I called it a day and went back home to enjoy some Christmas festivities with the fam.

Second here happened December of this season so about 6 months ago. Bachelor received fucking deplorable amounts of snow in the early season so the trees were still bare as hell even a month and a half into the season. That being said, this particular day we got a little dusting of 3-4" so I was stoked to finally see some fresh stuff. After being caged for so long and just being able to lap the park and rip the groomers, I was going all out balls to the wall enjoying the fresh stuff. My pow sticks have very little base left on them from the factory - its mostly p-tex at this point so that should give you an idea of how much I don't really care about what I ski over as long as its fun. I am bombing through the trees for a few laps and the snow is holding up fairly decently. No real exposed rocks, just some smaller trees and logs so I'm stoked. I come up to one of my favorite jib lines. Its a drop over the cat track to three smaller size jumps through and over a bunch of trees that shoots you out near the bottom half of the park. I decided to say fuck it and just send the line. It was good snow so what harm could be done right? I come into the cat track transfer and get bucked a little. A little more lippy than it usually is due to lack of snow but I still pulled a nice big shifty to tailgrab to flaunt my steeze to onlookers. I land pretty perfectly considering the take off and now I got way too much confidence in myself. I come over a little roll and give a big slash to toss myself into a white room. Why? Because its fun. Good idea? Nope because now I can't see. I know where to go for the lip to the next jump by heart pretty much so I luckily scrub a bit of speed before the take off not realizing the exposed roots at the top of the lip. I ollie over the roots but by doing so fucked the landing hard because I came up short. I wash out and slide my face right into the fucking base of a tree. Nose bleeding profusely and cut up right above my lip I lay there for a moment spitting blood into the snow. I shamefully get back up and slide on down to my car. After patching myself up with some gauze, off brand neosporin, and some tape I just lay in the back of the car for a bit and get dizzy. Rocked my noggin pretty hard so I decide to get my stuff off and drive back home before I loose all focus and am stuck in my freezing cold car for the next couple hours. Didn't really realize how bad the concussion was so I just went to school the next day like nothing ever happened and continued doing that not ever realizing the shape I was in. Right now, 6 months later, I'm getting crazy migranes every other week and am loosing focus all over the place. Is it because I didn't rest up properly? or is it because that was my 4th concussion in 4 years (5th in total)? Dunno. But moral of that story is be careful, dont be dumb, wear a helmet, and always take care of yourself. I luckily always wear a helmet and while I may still get concussions because I have no self control It beats taking the brunt of the damage to my brain without it.

Staggered rails are so sketch, my previous post in here involved one with a metal ball in between, but also end of the season carinthia had a normal and nice stagger flat down, so many people including myself would catch our front tips before transferring to the down, mini heart attack everytime.

10-15ft jump, cant remember. Done multiple cork 3s with ease off that kicker b4. Slushy day, I go for the trick, feel that it fucked up when I took off. I landed backseat and a bit sideways, my edges caught on the slush and bindings didnt reject, twisted my knee with my full body weight like crazy and proceeded to slide to the bottom of the landing.

Got up and the knee felt a bit bad, got to the lift, went up and it didn't hurt that bad so I skied the rest of the time left, bout an hour and a half. It got swollen throughout the day and I couldn't straighten it more than to about 145 degrees. (full straightened knee is 180 degrees in this case)

Went to see the doc a week after and he told me that it'll be fine and all. Bullshit.

Went to another doc about a month later and she just told me to do some 1 leg squats 15times every morning and every evening for 2 weeks. Also told me to call her after those two weeks and tell her if it got any better. So far it's just gotten maybe a bit worse, smh. Will have to call her on monday and see what can be done for the knee. This fucking blows
