Worst crash ever

i was skiing switch at night showing off and i forgot to look over my outside shoulder and slammed into a light post. i felt like an idiot

when i first started skiing and wasnt very good i decided to try the mougles and lost controll i flew over one and landed in a heap yard sale and all not shure if it was the same crash but i have a pic of me getting some award at school and may face is scratched i never foret it

we built a jump during the day and were hitting it from a certain spot and it was working so when i went back that night i never thought that i should start from closer up.... so i over shot the jump double ejected and slammed my face into ice

tree+skier moving at appox 35mph === two broken legs, broken wrist, broken helmet , 5 hours in ski patrol. all of thie w/ a ski instructor jacket it on

Mine was decking out on a 40ft table and breaking my right tibia and fibula, and getting a concussion.

tomahawking for 250ft down polar peak in fernie, over cheese grater rocks with about 200 people watching.

i was fine, although it looked like freddie krueger slashed my jacket and ski pants. And i lost everything that wasn't attached with a zipper or a buckel.

How did that happen, Polar Peak is pretty tame, unless you were mach-rediculousing it, or you caught a patch of ice.

But thats rough, Fernie is my regular mountain.

went off trail, ended up falling and hitting my head off a rock. i bled so much they had to give me a massive bandaid for my whole head

i was doing this urban rail at this boat launch. It was a 10 steep set up. It is in front of this lake ( which is forzen at this time of year). So i hit it....slide it with some awsome steeze. Then i ski on the lake, but there is an ice fishing hole that i did not see. So my right ski tip goes in, i get thrown off my bindings, and the ski sinks to the bottom of the lake.

Racing my friend down a trail at Gunstock that has wicked steep pitches that you can just hammer down. Well at the top of the first pitch I hit a snow mound causing me to catch about 15ft. of air... sideways, landed on my side and just went limp and waited for it to stop. I was just laying there, opened my eyes to see that I was at the bottom of the 300ft. or so hill laying against a nice little pile of snow my body collected when it slid limp across the snow. A ski here, pole there, everything was just scattered down the whole trail but what made me smile was when one of my friends who didn't see what happened skiied down to the top of the pitch and yelled down to me, "How'd you end up down there!" And I just replied in the shortness of breath I had, "I fell!" As some of my buddies brought my stuff down they filled me in on what happend. They said they just saw me get airborn, hit the ground then McGoverned (well they really said I went head over heels, but McGoverned just sounds sicker) out of view. All in all I consider myself very, very lucky because I stopped less than 15 feet to the right of a massive rock and the edge of some trees, plus I was just incredibly sore for the next week.

^^^^ that link is outttta control

but when i was little i was skiing some groomer and i wanted to see if i could go w/ my eyes closed and i skied off the trail and fell down a hill in the woods.

after reading those i don't really think i've had any bad crashes. I guess the worst one i had was when i dropped this 30 footer that had about a 10 foot powder landing (well more like a snowbank) before it went to flat ice. I hit the snow, flipped and pogo sticked on my head.

back when i was just gettin into the park i though how hard can ridin pipe be so i dropped in super fast and got tons of air and didnt pump the tranny or pop at all so i ended up decking out and i got a concusion

I was in a NORAM super g and I got spun around backwards and caught my tail going about 60 mph and tumbled into the net. I ended up breaking a ski in half and getting a concussion.

ahah i remember gallants crash, that was crazy, and the story that went with it was great, the anouncer egging him on hahah, oh man, but anyway, my worst crash:

yardsale over like a 20 foot table that i overshot by at least 10 feet into flat and landed at about 630 degrees...not very fun, on yeah, it was the last run too, i was headed down to the car and then i hit the one side of the jump and it was like half the size of the other one, and i didtnk now, so WHOOSH..but it wasnt that bad.

My church pastor tried a 360 of a cliff jump and broke his neck, arm, both legs, his wrist rupsured splean, broke his heal and also his shoulder blade!! HE really got fucked over!!!!

Over shot a 40ft table by about 10ft to pure flat. My toe slamed in my boot so hard the nail came off in all but one area on the side of it. my knees got fucked, only one ski released. my ploe strap was on my wrist and I fell with it stabbing down to it yanked on my arm and wrist. and slamed my head really hard. probably had a concusion. it ruined me for the season, the leg injuries did not go away. I was lucky though.

I was 3ing this 75 fter all day long

and I even tried 720ing it once and I missed that, So I went for a big smooth saftey three but cased and hit my head and the next thing I remember I am throwin up in an ambulance with oxygen on my face and IV's in my arm strapped to a board

propbably when i broke my pole with my sternum during landing. bruised a couple ribs. concussion at loon trying my first right side 180. spraining my thump while buttering, or catching an edge at the top of a hip landed face flat. i was spitting blood for about 10 minutes

when I tried to stick a frontlip over a 15-20foot cliff and my impact was right on my back in the previous landing!

Oh! And yesterday I had my first nutcracker!

Falls are fun. I've had some good ones:

Sliding a handrail that was pretty steep with a kink and maybe like 15 steps above and below it. Did not absorb the kink at all and got airborn (steep fast rail) and landed nearly at the bottom of the second set on my side on the stairs.

Pipe hit and caught an edge somehow on a flair to 180 on the deck and landed directly on my head at the bottom. Wearing a helmet, luckily.

Completely overshoot a hip on the Blackcomb glacier, like not even a bit of the landing (it was a short landing) and basically stopped almost dead because it was in fact, slightly uphill.

I have been lucky though, never a broken bone or anything. I think in my prime I might have had an almost Dumont-like body, but not so anymore. Beer can do these things.

After someone got in the way when i was gonna jump, i got angry.. skiied down to my ski mate, slammed my pole into the ground. Pole plant, so I crashed into my mate and broke my pole

ok, i was in 7th grade and was a pretty bad skier (i didnt actualy do anything until about the end of 8th grade). i was at the local ski hill* that had about 5 slow runs. i was at the terrain park with some friends and they were going of jumps and doing either nothing or a spread eagle. i decide i waould do one and headed toward what i thought was a steep hill that just went up a lot and then went back down, it wasnt though; it went up and just ended. my friend next to my asked wtf i was doing and make a quick turn to dodge the jump. i didnt realize what he meant until i got to the top of the jump and felt my self being launched into the air. i looked down and said to myself 'holy shit i didnt want to be this high' and blacked out. i was kind of afraid of hieghts then and not that daring of a skiier. so the next thing i remeber was that my friend who asked me wtf i was doing yelling at me to get out of the way ecuase some one els was going togo off the jump. i had a hard time seeing because my goggles got cracked when i did a face plant into the ice. i stodde up and realized i had no skis on so i picked them up and ran away just in time so i wouldnt get hit by the guy going off the jump. my firends and i went inside to get something to eat and i looked in the mirror and my right cheek was pushed up almost to where i could see out of my eye,and i had a cut on my cheek that was bleeding a little bit. i cleaned my self of and felt like a dumbshit the next couple of days at school.

i did that but on purpose during my racing practice and showed up a bunch of fags but i landed it on flat though

aight so i wasat the school ski race, and before my turn to check the racecourse i was pulling shit on a 60 foot long bigair jump in les diablerets and overshot it doing a 540. i landed fter the landing fakie, faceplanted like there is no tomorrow and blacked out for like 10 min. then i had to do fucking gatwatching for the rest of the day, and i couldnt fucking see straight. its a miracle i didnt fuck up badly.

Im actualy damn lucky with injuries, cuz I never broke any bones or anything, Ive only bruised myself up a little

But the most embarassing was that I hit a jump, about 35 feet, did a 3, overshot, landed on the flats, and then I like colapsed and continued to slide with my skis going strait and I was like laying on my back and going outa control...It was pretty funny, but everybody on the lift was laughing at me

haha

last season i was hauling ass straight down a steeper blue run on my way to a lift at steamboat. when the pitch flattened out, i was going really fast, but forgot for a minute that i was skiing.

somehow i managed to catch BOTH my inside edges at the same time, causing me to momentarily do a homer simpson-esque spread eagle on-snow and then immediately proceed to go straight down on my face, cracking the lens of my wisdoms almost completely in half. yeah that was the most embarrassing

the worst was either last year when i hopped a tiny drop into a barely obscured field of rocks (football sized bruise on right hip) or a couple years ago when i caught an edge near the top of a hip and landed in the flats on my side (football sized bruise on left hip).

I was doing a straight air over a jump to see how much speed and hieght I needed when I over shot it. My ski went through my googles I was knocked unconcius. When I woke up I wanted to go again. So I tryed to pick up my skis and walk up. but my left hand couldn't pick up my ski. So I took my glove off and my wrist was bent up like A stair. I passed out. I woke up in the ski patrolls place. It turns out I fractured my wrist, my googles shatered and put 2 deep cuts in my face and my braces cut through my bottem lip and worst of all my binding riped off.

That was all on my first day of work.

My friends told me that were I crashed there was a bloody spot for like a week.

I healed up and right before the season ended I through the best 7 of my life with a full arm cast.

My worst one for permanent injury was a few years back... it involved a short flat rail about 20 feet long and on a raised spine of snow about 8 feet up, which had supports coming up from underneath, meaning it looked sort of like this: TTTTTTTTTTTT... so anyway, I slid off of my tips towards the end of it, leading foot first, and my tip got caught in the joints... I was moving very quickly and it ended up whipping me around, pulling out my hip and severely hyperextending my knee. The binding didn't release cleanly... could've used a pair of reactors on that one. I still feel it it in my knee pretty frequently. No surgery, fortunately. But it ended my season. Good thing it was in the spring.

Another one involved an encounter with a tree off a little kicker in a rather wooded area that I came off at the wrong angle, hit the tree about 6 feet from the snow, both my skis shoot off down the hill and I fall flat on my back. It must've looked like a roadrunner cartoon.

I had a good one last year skiing sideways... yeah, my edges were so gone I could get almost full speed slipping sideways spatula-style on my Ar5s if I kept the edge up a bit... but then I hit a bump and caught the side of my ski... whack, smack into the ground, stopped dead. Didn't hurt at all but it looked hilarious.

i was skiing at fortress mountain in some crusted over powder. i was still getting used to powder itself ( i am from saskatchewan) but having a good time. i found a nice roller, hit it with some speed, got a bit of air, landed and broke through the crust. when my boots hit where my skis broke through, i face planted and my one ski didn't come off. the back of the ski (this is before my twins) hit me in the head and i statred bleeding. after talking to a patrol dude, i was supposed to go to calgary for stitches, but i said screw it, this is my one trip to the mountains, i am not going, so i imagine i have a nice scar somehwere on the top of my head.
