Worst Bootfitter, EVER.

I wear a size 12 shoe and have a 29.5, 335mm boot. And they fit snug. From what I've read around here people buy their street shoes like 1/1.5 sizes to big...

Everybody claiming to wear a size 12 shoe and a 27.5 FT? Sorry, but get normal sized shoes. That can't even be comfy because they're 2 sizes too big...

hahahahah thats me!! i got the flatest feet ever hhaah, basically SPK's are the only type of boots that fit my feet, because theyre so wide

that would explain why they fit me like garbage, My foot is pretty tall, and has an ungodly amount of arch. Plus i didn't buy them for anyone who reads this and goes "Why did you buy a shitty fitting boot"

I dont even wanna get into this. Even if I stat talking about my shop experience and blah blah this is the internet and there will always be someone to contradict. if you really want to know how boots work, got to shops ask questions to many DIFFERENT people and gain your own experience to build your own knowledge and opinions.

those are my thoughts. hope that penny wasn't wasted :P

1) Your shoe size has absolutely no correlation with your ski boot size, you kids wear your shoes BIG2) I wear a size 13 shoe and ski in a 29 full tilt (which is pretty much a 28 for most other companies)

3) The guy was clearly trying to help you, even if he was off on some things you kinda seem like an asshole

A 28 & 28.5 with a 325mm BSL do not have a different last length, nor a different liner length between half and whole sizes. Salomon makes their whole size liners slightly narrower, but once you heat mold it any difference vanishes.

They may have been doing the right thing.
I have small feet and wear a 22 and the problem with that is that the only company I know of that makes and adult 22 last is dynafit. Every other company is a 23 boot with a 22 liner. Sooooo putting you into a junior race boot can actually be better since you can get the 21 or 22 last that you may need. Also, kids race boots are made just as well my Langes are 110 flex and I will be getting a 21.5 nordica 110 and blowing out the tow a tad.
So yeah, if you need a 21 or 22, go into a junior race boot or spend $800 and get dynafit boots.
I had a guy try to tell me to demo the 23's so I could have an idea of how the 22's felt since they didn't have a demo in my size available. I kinda laughed and said no.

i didnt read any of the rest of the thread, and im sorry if i was hasty to judge, but a mature adult might consider expressing your opinion politely and directly to said bootfitter, instead of sitting on your high horse "testing his knowledge". that shit sounds like something a jealous 15 yr old girlfriend does.

Just an FYI, any of our (Atomic) 22s are real 22s- none are 23s with a short liner. 95mm, 98mm, 100mm last options in size 22.

This thread is full of laughs. You are the sort of customer that makes boot fitters cringe and bitch about in the workshop afterwards.

28 sounds about right. I wear a 10 1/2 shoe and wear 26.5 boots. I have super narrow feet. So many kids force their wider feet into ft and think it's ok I 'll just get a bigger shell size. IDIOTS

I personally haven't had any success with atomic. I'm sure your unisex products are great, but none of them run into smaller sizes. I've tried on the 100 flex women's and they were all wrong for me. But thats just personal preferences. Even still..... having 1 company make 1 women's option that is 100+ isn't to awesome.
I've only had success with Dynafit, Jr. Nordicas, and Jr Langes. Haven't tried any of the other stiffer jr boots cause the Nordica's/Langes are both pretty awesome. I just end up with the langes needing the toes blown out a tad cause my toes are on the wider side. But I'm also not surprised that when I talk to bootfitters, they almost always want to put me in a jr. race boot. The moment you say you are advanced and like to do steeps.... there aren't really other options.

i work at a shop too except im not the bootfitter tho but your 100% right. In my shop i tend to find that european people like to go about 2 to 3 shell sizes too big, the best trick i have in my bag is shell fitting, take out the liner, have them stick there foot in the shell, tell them move there toes to the front and watch as they are surprised to see how much room is actually in the heel of the boot. But liner fitting works great too.

i remember when i went to get my first pair of boots i told the guy i wore a size 9.5 shoe at the time. he came out of the back room with a nordica that i wanted in a 29.5 shell. the conversation went as follows.

me: what is this?

fitter: oh dont mind the size, it's a european thing.

me: yeahhh. but still, i need something smaller.

fitter: i dont think so, this should fit you perfectly.

me: (try on boot) its too big. (proceed to get boot fitting scale) i need a 26.5

fitter: well isnt that something?

me: ...

so that one was pretty obvious, but yeah i can feel you. they are out there, and theyll get the gapers. know what you want before you go to the shop.

This thread reminds me I kind of need new boots. PS, I am a eu45 / US 11.5 shoe size and wear size 28 Solly guns in the old Xwave shell.

Sorry to hear that! Keep your eyes peeled next fall and in years to come... Big changes are happening in our collection ;)

I love how people think boots should fit like some Nike 6.0s right outta the box. If you put them on and are like OMG, these dont hurt, they are perfect!!! You need to drop a shell size! Im a 12/13 shoe and wear 27.5s, granted my toes are at the end of the boot, but thats what I want.

Hey man i gotta say those atomics are nice but I had to choose against them since my heel just moved a little to much compared to the dalbellos. I spent all day Sunday trying boots on and getting fitted and you really just have to let the fitter work, it is a lot of back and forth but damn I can't wait to ski. Is atomic planning on making a 3 buckle anytime soon? Inb4 a boot doesn't need three buckles but I love the way the krypton pulls my heel down. I just couldn't get that same feel in the atomic and Lange boots

The new boot that will debut at SIA will be a 4 buckle, but something the boot world has never before seen. It will be a show stopper. Mark my words, you heard it here first ;) haha

So this amazing boot..... its going to come in a 21.5/22.5? cause ummm... otherwise I'm not excited.

This is exactly why I got out of retail before I put a fucking gun to my head. Fine, buy the wrong shit I honestly do not give a fuck.
