Worst book ever

that's because there's a lot of "concepts" in it... i'm guessing you read it sophomore year in HS? I personally think that's too young to read/appreciate it.

Old testament was pretty much the draft for the new. just swapped characters around and shit. All based on older stories though.

yeah that ranks pretty high on the worst books ever. About a fifth of our class actually finished the book and our teacher knew it so he gave the easiest test ever like "who is the main character?" "Who is the antagonist" etc... so funny.

Joy Luck Club..it's gotta be near four hundred pages, all of which simply consist of five chinese women bitching about their lives while playing Manga or whatever.

I fully support everyone having an opinion and will respect any thought within reason. However, in this case I can comfortably say your opinion is wrong. Read it again in a few years and you should be able to appreciate the writing. If not, then maybe that style just isn't for you.

But yeah, Catcher In The Rye is an amazing book.

eh i wasnt as fond of the amber spyglass as the rest of them but they were all good. i just thought the first two were better

"Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"

Like it would ever rain pancakes and syrup. The plot was so thin and the character were the most underdeveloped of any book i have ever read. And the themes? I mean come on people, lets learn to write a decently constructed novel!

No but seriously this is like the best book ever. i dont know why i put it in the "books i hate" thread but it is such a depressing thread.

fuck the giver
fuck harry potter
fuck the power of one
fuck a separate peace
fuck cloud street
fuck... that pretty much it

relay i am usually a happy person

harry potter is one of the worst books ever. Seriously all he does is complain and cause drama about his wizard friends and he has a gay wond

i had to read that for school...i hated it so much. I appreciated the content, but the language was hard to get through.

The Tracker.

had it for summer reading and its about some noob who likes the woods and follows animals around and shit. thats seriously about it tho,

i went to catholic school and asked one priest that question, he fliped out.

worst book ever is once and future king, 500 ish pages of nothing

The bible, i cant read it without thinking about how great a FICTIONAL novel it is.and Watership Down, we had to read this an animal farm for allegories and it just doesn't compare to animal farm, soooooo horrible

the joy luck club

scores of pages about stupid chinese bitches whining, its like a book about a lifetime movie, i wanted to die

Tortilla Curtain. It's racist, the characters are bitches, and if the writing got any worse i would start killing babies. WORST BOOK EVER.

this gives evidence that you're all hating on a book you haven't ever read and are judging by the actions of people who most likely have not read it either. I have no problem about hating on books, but at least read them or know what they consist of first. I also notice that its super cool to hate on the bible but nobody has the balls to mock any other religious document, ie the Koran. If you're gonna hate on religion, hate on all religions, and if you're gonna hate on the bible know what's in it first. My vote goes for the scarlet letter.

ROAR, I"M A BIG BAD TROLL: Most religious books, but the Bible tops them all as worst book ever. I've read it, the stories aren't even interesting, let alone believable. I say we do this world a favor and recycle them all to make paper for better and more believable books like Harry Potter or the next book in the Redwall series.

I am not a big proponent of the Bible, but Harry Potter? Sure that can be more uniformely accepted as evil...

a school where kids learn magic instead of math?

tell me how that's more evil than a world where some unseen being makes up a bunch of rules and if you don't follow them you get to burn in some fiery underworld for all eternity? or a world where said unseen being will kill your family and your livestock just to prove that you will still massage his grossly over-inflated ego? or a world where the writing of such a book has instigated mass executions and other such human rights violations?

i'd rather worship some kid on a flying broomstick than an unseen being that would rape me in the anus for having sex before i got married.

I'm probably going to end up sounding like a snob or a hater or something but I seriously cannot understand how some people can hate on the likes of the lord of the flies, catcher in the rye, dahl!?!? other classic and lastly, Beloved. I simply cannot except any hate on this novel. It is a far too important piece of literature to be so easily dismissed. Morrison is a Nobel prize winner i mean come ON!

^i though catcher in the rye was awesome, but i probably wouldn't want to have read in english- i just really liked what seemed to go on the characters head. the book i don't like but can't put down is fierce invalids home from hot climates- it's such a piece of shit- they just handed the author a giant thesaurus, and said "go nuts"
