Worse invention ever, what are they thinking.

Saw this on Mpora today and thought "what the fuck, this is the stupidest idea ever".

I can just imagine somebody landing on there shoulder blades and then it breaking and the snowboarder getting majorly fucked up. I get the point that they are trying to be able to do Quad corks, but with the help of this i feel like its really not a cool thing for the sport.

this is not in Ski gabber, because its not skiing.

This is not in Snowboard gabber because its more about the technology then the snowboarding.

so if it gets you significantly more airtime, do you have to slow down going into the jumps so you don't overshoot? or will they build bigger ones only for people who have a jetpack?

Oakley test researched this idea years ago ..

I can't believe those designers were serous? A clothing designer trying to put turbine motors into a jacket, yea ok. In no way would something like that ever work. What is it powered by? Fuel? A battery pack? There is sooo much more to flight then the thrust.

I have to show this video to my buddy who is an engineer. He would get a great kick outa it.

This is retarded. Why dont we just add springs onto the jumps and fuck it lets get the snowboarders in a jet plane for maximum air time.

I was hoping for some wingsuit jacket that would generate lift and not require you to carry a huge battery.

Why is always Aussie's who come up with weird ideas?

How will it give you more "air time" if you do any kind of invert? wont it just push you back to ground faster?

So if I was to wear a working version of this and go inverted, would it not send me plummeting to the ground?

Guys we need more air time for bigger tricks

We could build a bigger jump

We could make the jump have more pop

Make the snow board have more pop

How about we make a flying snow board jacket

He mentioned using the invention for training, which I think could be a pretty useful application for such a tool. Except for the fact that 1. It's an overly expensive technology that would probably break on impact from 40+ feet in the air to the ground, and 2. Snowboarders and skiers will eventually become reliant on such technology to preform.

This is taking the sport-aspect away from snowboarding/skiing. The idea behind this is taking away the physical application of muscle memory needed to preform a trick; Learn to hit bigger jump and excel and develop the sport. Don't ruin it with unnecessary technology.

It's the equivalent of a runner using rocket shoes to run faster. It's fucking stupid.

Day ruined. I'm pissed off. Fuck the world and fuck that snowboarder. Quads or go home pussy. Bitch is trying to cheat his way into the future.

Actually you're fucking wrong, this is sick. This is the future, we're gonna be able to ski on the fucking moon. On fucking mars.

no. apparently there are gyroscopes built in that tell it when you become inverted, which in turn kills thrust so it does shoot you in to the ground.

lol, trying to get a little bit more airtime... Bruh the jumps are only so big, good luck taking it to the flats. Also, they could just start higher up on the inrun....

ya would maybe be dope. yet wait until some one flat backs off a 80 footer with it on and see how dope it would be. The ignorance is so strong with this one.

it's fake. nothing about it makes sense. oh, youre going to go bigger on the exact same jump? where do you plan to land? how do you think that little thing on your back (under your jacket?) is going to have enough thrust to affect your 100 something pound body?

retards!

hahahaha this is just ridiculous and clearly made by somebody who has no idea what a park jump even is. Park jumps and jumps in slopestyle courses are specifically built to have you land on the sweet spot of the landing. Strap a jetpack on your backpack and all your going to be doing is landing flat and blowing out knees and ankles. You can only take a jump to the landing no matter how much air is possible. So ridiculously dumb.

There would have to be different jackets for snowboarders and skiers, you would have to be hitting the jump like Patrick fucking star to be able to go up, if you go in tucked it will shoot you far past the landing and not up.

LOL's..................................but damn how is he still alive

Manlets are blessed by ant-like biomechanics making them stronger and allowing them to survive bigger drops.

pretty skeptical about this... i mean, if they could create a usable amount of thrust from a unit that small, stable and temperature-neutral, the world would be losing its shit over such handy dandy technology. the first uses of this technology would probably be military, not... snowboarding...

After watching that I can honestly say I will never buy anything Oakley ever again - That may have been one of the worst ideas I've ever heard and I guarantee those designers have never set foot on a snowboard before.

Since when is there a snowboard gabber and why does it exist?
