yep. I've actually done this before to fuck up this nest of big ass centipedes. Karosine will be much safer though. If you have a chemical sprayer, put it in there. If you don't know what I'm talking about, its this canister thing with a pump and sprayer hose on it, and its normally used for spraying weeds. Lightly coat the "affected area", light, and watch it burn off.
 
yea in ny we get these fucking catipillers they eat all the leaves so it looks like it is still sping you should kill them
 
yah dude their tent catapillers... you need to kill them they will eat the leaves and kill the tree.. if you dont kill them your tree will be dead within like a couple weeks.. kill them all
 
we always have tent catapillars around here and the easiest way to get rid of them short of burning your tree down is to take a stick or broom handle and beat the shit outta the nest, they will get exposed, eaten then they will fall out of the tree and die. If all else fails I hear gasoline makes those nests burnnnn
