World's finest powder?

Well the sheer amount alyeska gets might make it some of the best snow. In the last week they've gotten 117 inches of snow...

I really want to ski utah though

From the east coast, currently reside in SLC...

Let's see. Did the NH pow thing for a bit. Got nothing to cheer about there. Skied in VT for 2 years at Jay Peak and Stowe. Some good days, but nothing grossly spectacular compared to last season at several resorts and areas in Utah.

i've never skied outside of Montana and Wyoming but everyone who Ive talked to who has say that nothing can compare to Montana and Utah.

Snow in tahoe has a higher water content, making it a lot heavier. So the day after the powder day is mildly annoying, but when its fresh, its beautiful.

Well, I kind of left that part open. You're right, there are places with dry powder but comparatively little snow, and then there are places with lots of snow, but it's the heavy stuff.
I'd list my top choices as Japan (slightly wetter than Utah, but an unbelievable amount of it), and Utah (a nice balance between plenty of snow and high quality).
The Cascades / Coast / Sierras are all pretty heavy snow, catch it on one of those Pineapple Express days and it is really like cement, catch it on one of those cold storms (like when it's snowing in Vancouver) and it's pretty damn good.

Well I'm from the UK so I don't get a lot of skiing in, however I've been skiing for 24 years now and been to a few places.

I'd say Utah had the best quality snow I have ever skied, even though the time I was there was relatively poor snow conditions (we still thought it was good).

However this year I was in Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria and for some reason the dumps we had there were the best I have ridden in a long long time; something about that place is just super awesome mega wicked as well.

In my experience Japan around the Niseko area no contest. Next is the areas in interior BC around Silver Star and Revelstoke

fuck pow is awesome

I have skied lots of pow in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Utah, Colorado, New Zealand and Argentina.

From those, I would say Switzerland/Austria and Utah have the finest powder.

bogata ftw. but as far as parcipitation goes it doesnt get any better then solitude after a huge dump!!!!!!!!!

Ive hit a few good storm in British Columbia, the sweet pillow lines and the snow ghosts that take over the trees are cool, but the wasatch cold smoke lake effect freshies trump
