Yo NS, I had the craziest summer - skating my melons off getting ready for winter.

I been trying to up my snowskate game by crosstraining downhill longboarding and a little-known sport called slalom skateboarding.

In June I caught wind of a slalom skateboarding race, and it happened to be local and happened to be the national finals for the sport.

I thought, "Eh what the hell, I'll enter."

Well, there ain't no skating that goes harder than snowskating, so basically, I just kinda stomped really hard at nationals and scored so many points I qualified for Team USA Slalom Skateboarding. Lol life is funny man.

Anyways! I'm off tomorrow for the world championships in Argentina!

Schedule Friday Oct 28, Saturday 29, Sunday 30 (Pacific Standard Time):

Qualification: 07:30am - 09:00am

Finals (Top 8): 11:00am - 12:30pm

Schedule Monday Oct 31 (Pacific Standard Time):

Qualification, women: 08:00am

Qualification, men: 09:00am

Semi-finals: 11:00am

Finals (top 6): 12:30pm

No. No skateboarders received a dime of sponsorship money from the organization for this trip.

It's contentious rn because of the conflicting interests and budget priorities of salaried employees vs volunteer organizers... everything you'd expect.

Some countries, especially smaller ones, received funding from their national governments. Not the US though. We had to fend for ourselves and find our own sources.

The athletes with stable careers seem to fare the best.
