World of Warcraft

Thing is...

I go to college, and broadcast hockey games.

I play WoW on average 2 hours a night on weeknights and probably like most of the day on a sunday.

I dont see that as being addicted.

THEN!

Every single one of my friends owns a 360 (me included)

most go to school, and play modern warfare 2 from end of the day at school till they go to sleep.

now do you guys call that addicted? or is everyone so stuck that WoW is

for the devil? because I know the ass ton of you on here that play MW2

don't just play for 30 min in your day.

A video game is a video game...whether its a MMO, FPS, RPG etc. If you enjoy it you do it. Plain and simple.
 
I played BC pretty hardcore like downed some shit in black temple /claim then when Wrath came out got to 80 and then just got bored and quit
 
think of how much more you could be doing with those 2 hours a night AND the whole day sunday.

I own an xbox. Hardly ever play it. The only game I have is MW2 and when I play, it usually is only for half an hour. And thats maybe once a week.

I hardly play anymore. I log in and run around about once a month. I played a lot when it first came out, then started up again when each expansion came out. I had a lot more time to play during summers in college when I was single. Now there just is almost no time for gaming of any kind. WoW is fun, but if weren't for all my coworker at circuit city that got me started that summer, and one of my closest friends getting me in his guild after that, I doubt I would have played much at all. The fun of it for me was playing with friends.
 
for all the people that say "omg you get so addicted to this game," shut up. if you have one ounce of a brain you can easily stop playing, and control yourself. it's just like doing anything else
 
you can hate on the game or not all you want. people play cause its fun and i only play in the spring and summer when im bored. if i have plans i ditch WoW at that exact second. if you dont let it control your life, it doesn't. but it is fun as hell..play with a lot of people i know in RL (atleast 20)
 
the only thing I don't like about the game is it's just a constant grind. If you're not 80 you might as well forget about doing anything else besides maybe a few BGs.
 
IMO, i feel like the game starts at 80. 1-80 leveling is just pregame ;]..endless possibilities after you ding 80. fun BC runs with friends, fun old content farms like naxx, then new progression. then PvP never gets old, funnest thing to do.
 
haha a long ass pregame. If you don't play the game a lot it takes forever to level. I love PVP though, i always used to do that when I should of been leveling. But yeah, once you get to outlands it gets more fun

well seeing as i wake up at 9:30 for class...get done at 2 work till 8...where i can do my home work at my job ...so i don't really know what else there is to do with my time after 8 o'clock which fits right in there video games till like 11 o'clock...ski on friday and saturday (seeing as i live an hour from the ski area) its not really worth my gas to drive up when i can't spend the night at home (which is 5 min from the ski area)

video games are a great pass time, more brain activity than watching TV.
 
1-80 takes like maybe 7 days played if you know anything about anything. It isn't that hard of grind. Something to do when you are bored with your mains or are not raiding since pvp gets boring after a while.

And raiding is fun if you have a good guild who isn't full of fails and there are some nerdy ass people who play but I considered myself a hardcore casual and tried to do the best I could in raids and what not. Also wrecked shit in pvp as an affliction lock and arena is probably my favorite part of the game.

 
World of Warcraft is homo. First off 15$ a month for a fucking computer game? Computer games are wack. lets go on a quest for some fucking potions and hang out in fairy cities with a bunch of lame old fucks. get an xbox, mordern warfare, kill terrorists. its that simple.
 
dude, live costs money too. They're both video games, and plus you just said video games are wack, then go on about how we should all just get MW2...
 
I lol'd. But seriously, WoW is fun as hell if you play with chill people, I would rather down a boss in WoW than go 30-5 in CoD4, because who really gives a fuck about either of those things?

I play a feral druid, Chickendodo, lol.

Call of Duty is just as lame as World of Warcraft. You sit there and do the same thing over and over again for hours on CoD, the only reason I play either is to play with friends; it's lame as fuck to play CoD or WoW alone.
 
I like halo and cod for the competition. When cod came out I played for 30 min to an hour every day before I lifted. Now I watch seinfield, so it's not like I am doing something more productive. That argument is fucking stupid, down time is down time. There is no difference between playing video games and any other passive activity. Never played wow but everyone I know that does play it will choose that over going out or even skiing. A fps you can pick up and play, then walk away. Wow is a second reality. So play if you want, and no hate from me because if you play wow your other reality (life) must suck ass and I don't want you to kill yourself.
 
So all people who play WoW are losers and have no social life and will do it over anything else.

Yes they are both video games. However, he said COMPUTER GAMES are whack. I assume that he means PC games rather than gaming systems like xbox, playstation etc...

MW2 is usually played on playstation and xbox so the way he said what he said shouldn't be too confusing. He doesn't like PC cuz he thinks it's whack yet likes xbox etc...

And yah I was gonna point that out to him too about the xbox live costing money. The main reason why paying for WOW is lame cuz it's 15 bucks a month whereas if you were to get the year+a month deal for xbox live then all in all it costs you something like $3.84 a month (too lazy to look up exact cost but i remember it being like 47-50 bucks ish so i used that figure)...... in other words for 13 months of xbox live you pay about 50 bucks and 13 months of WOW you pay 195 bucks....that is a bitttt of a diff in price.
 
does no one else think this is hilarious. I watched the entire thing and was dying laughing. I dont know shit about WOW, never played once, but the way this guy talks about it is the funniest thing ive seen all night.
 
i like the point being made about wow and cod both just being video games and what ever one you play is still just a past time...yes there are some people that take it way to hard core on wow and play like it is their life (where that is the bad rep comes from) but it is really fun there is a lot more content and more dimensions to the game than call of duty.

on the second hand i love call of duty as well nothing replaces shooting people up in a war game.

I'll call my self a gamer, and a serious one at that...trying to be some mlg pro hell no....i just enjoy it.

I balance a pretty good life...school/girlfriend/friends//family/work/skiing/golf/baseball...i'd get bored as hell with out a video game to play in my down time.

as for PC being whack..well thats a different battle.....no matter what PC graphics will always top a console because of the unlimited expandability and advancing technology...a console is the same until a new one comes out.

I dont think you realize what you just said..Check out the gear dude. I did THE hardest raiding is a joke. I also have an 80 druid that i just sold. WOTLK raiding just isnt hard. My toon is a trophy to the game dude. HEs got the best pre-WOTLK gear you can get. WOW JUST ISNT THE SAME. you guys dont realize. im sorry for ranting but it kills me to see what wow is today

I never raided Sunwell back in the day but heard it was mind-blowingly hard.

I quit before 3.0 came out back in the day because they nerfed every instance by like 30% or something retarded.

But really don't nerd rage all over me. WoW is what you make it. I am sure you haven't done any ICC HMs. Maybe it is easier to get free epics but the raids are just as hard but there is just more information and guides available to help down bosses that they weren't in Vanilla or TBC.
 
yes 3.0 is when they nerfed everything but we dowen KJ pre second muru nerf. Blizzard really ruined the game and i know im nerd raging but if you were at the openinn of the gates of AQ you would realize how badly they ruined an amazing game. The game age went from older people to literally 6th graders

I sometimes wish I was still into WoW. I back when I was like 14 I could play it for hours on end and was incredibly happy doing so. It was nice to have something that could entertain me so easily.

Video games just dont have the same pull anymore though :(
 
I used to play but I had trouble sticking with it because I had no RL friends playing and I was on a bunk server. I've tried a few other MMO's since then but I didn't stick with those either. Killing monsters and people with my rogue and warlock was fun, but, the constant level cap raises and shitty PvP just made me lose interest in the game.
