so this past year or so, i've really gotten into non-american music. from mexico, i love manu chao and los pericos. from africa, im a big fan of fela kuti, sam mangwana, oliver mtukudzi, johnny clegg. i have some sweet carriebean steel drum music. anyone else enjoy worldly music? suggestions?

i just got back from antigua today, and i heard some of the dopest steel drum music. It wasn't the stereotypical jimmy buffet songs-converted to steel drum music, it was very jazzy. They were actually good, creative musicians who were actually playing for their own pleasure rather than cashing in on tourists saying, "oh i love the way they play cheesburger in paradise on those drums." I wish i talked to them and got their names or a cd. Definatley something you don't normally hear.

im taking a class in school right now on European music its ganna be prety sweet cause we basicaly just listen to music and i can take the cd home and put them on my comp. im hoping to broden my musical tastes

has anyone listened to sierra leone refugee allstars? they seem pretty sweet, but i was wondering what songs i should download. any suggestions?
