World ends next friday.

Spark Note: Mayan calender ends October 28, 2011. I Honestly don't think anything will happen but everyone is going ape shit.

I am already dead from the rapture, there is no way the mayans figured out how to kill me again!

sorry sir i didnt know that the mayan calendar dictated ours...........and i thought it ended on december 21st 2012. this mayan calendar ends on this day is aboslute bull. It ended because the poor boy who had been born into slavery and turned the giant calendar wheel got fed up and stopped, hence the calendar ended-----------

Actually, its not just that the calender ended its that they wrote when the calender ended the world would also.

thats what i would do. i would also just straight drop out, and spend the rest of your time on earth on hookers and blow. the worlds ending in a few days, better live it up.

this prediction is from the guy that said the world was ending in may... the rapture remember that? of wait..

If I read one more "The world's ending!?!?!?! OMGWTFBQ?" thread, I'm going to castrate the op with a toaster. Actually no, that's kinda harsh, I feel bad now.

But seriously.

isnt this from the same dude who said the world was ending like 3 months ago. But then he said he did his math wrong? You would think if you were saying the world was ending you might recheck your math.

ALL THESE SIGNS POINT TO CERTAIN DOOM!

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Actually, you're entirely wrong.
The Mayan calendar is cyclical. The current Mayan civilization doesn't recognize an end to the calendar as the end of the world, it begins a new cycle or age. It coincidently, or not so incidentally, lines up with astrology and the entering of the age of Aquarius. Of course different cycles mean different things and different ages have more significance, but as far as the Mayans are concerned, they wont notice any difference or care at all when December 21st 2012 hits...
As far as the end of the world thing. It was a misinterpretation from archaeologists through the 80s/90s that never was publicly retracted. Sadly, the statement made it into an incredibly popular and otherwise accurate documentary that many many kids have watched in school. I was one of those kids and it was one of the reasons I started to think I may want to be an anthropologist.
So yeah, the archeology community has recognized it as false, as well as the Mayan community.

They forgot to say that on nov 5th anon is gonna tear appart Facebook. cuz when that days comes around we all know hells gonna break loose!...cant wait for nov 5th lol

It's supposed to be the dawn of a new age of consciousness. As in, humans would evolve to be more understanding of their place in the universe, and the universe as a whole.

It was never supposed to be the end of the world, only a new beginning.

As for the calendar holding true to its predictions, we can only wait and observe.

One quick parallel you could apply, is the protests all over the planet.

People are becoming more aware of the negative aspects of a capitalistic, ladder system, where wealth builds more wealth; and wealth leads to influence and power.

There are also almost a billion people hungry on the planet right now, while we use corn to produce fuel, instead of meals.

In no way am I saying this is directly related to these predictions, my comments are merely observations of the present state of the system and people who occupy it.

And quoting my post and replying with that is significant how?
All you are doing is throwing out half truths that continue to enforce fallacies that people have heard. This is unnecessary and freaks people out.
Yes, the 13th cycle has significance. It always has and considering the cyclical nature of things... it happens at a bit more than 5000 years... We've survived many many cycles and this one will be no different. Certainly we can sit and go... wow so much is changing right now! But really? Did we do that in the 60's? Did we do that with the invention of the assembly line? Did we do that during the great depression? Hell Jesus came around in the middle of a cycle and isn't the 13th supposed to be the most significant? There have been many world events greater than the current status of our country. To say the mayans predicted it is pretty silly.
This sums it up pretty well.
