Once again with my whiteface threads.....

Is anyone from here gunna be at the world cup this weekend, i know its snowboarding but soo sick nonetheless. The mountain got around 3 feet of snow in the past few days so sick there will still be pow this weekend. If you end up comming up to watch the comp go to the ski jumps saturday night, big open railjam and the pros hitting a 1/4 pipe off the 120m jump, should be mad fun. Next week the park will get redone on a new trail deffanatly worth the drive for anyone in the area.

I'll be there, can't make it for saturday night tho, already bought tix to see Clarkson play first round ecac playoffs here, I gotta meet up with you before last run and rip some mtn, gets kinda old with the same old ppl

I'll most likely be there tomorrow, mostly to ski the slides. I plan on checking out the comp sometime during the day though.

im pissed i wasnt there. i got hurt at willard on friday night, so my whole weekend was over. and were the slide open?

so the parkstaff sucks, all year they said they didnt wanna bother redoing the brookside park because it was gunna be moved to boreen, now that there is a huge base on boreen and they could move it over there they are to lazy to build the new park.... looks like were gunna be stuck with the same small set up for the whole year

i guess i'll be there, i was hoping to make it down to the vto but i guess it didnt work out for me

yo, thats wicked gay, they didn't do shit with the park all year because of all the work they had to do on the pipe for the worldcup and the boardercross track. Last year the park was OK on brookside(better than this year IMO...), and better on boreen... disappointed... how is the pipe, have they maintained it since the cup?

park staff suck huh. WHo are you? you think that we dont want to move the park over? Man you are retarded. We would move it there in a heart beat but we are not allowed to. Talk to management and get it straight

Oh thats Alex. Give me a break. I though you knew better than that. Boreen is where the park should be and it may be there all year next year if everything goes well. Im sorry we cant build there this year but they are not being very cooperative. We are all mad about it

Im not bashing you guys, I know you usually do what you can, but management isn't going to listen to a couple of h/s and college students from the area, we need to collectively approach them with a game plan for building and maintaining a park. Park improved since years past... yes, park up to snuff with east coast resorts... and general world class resorts... nope. I would write a formal letter, you just have to let me know who all to send it to, and what exactly needs to be addressed... funding? the fact that the first jump in the park is too short for the inrun and I see people overshoot it all the time? I know how management can be, and issues with insurance as its what Im studying in school, let me know how I can help... Why is this year different than last with the trail over on boreen???

I know, sorry you guys do what you can with what they give you and do a hell of a job at that.

On their defence, its gotta be hard to get the snow up to the first jump to make it the good size, think about it after the first moth or so of the season they really havent been able to blow snow on brookside. So to get snow for a jump they have to harvest from everywhere and anywhere, much easyer to set up the last jump

i built them all a little bigger this week and built the last one back up and it is around 45'. I am in the process of building a quarter pipe on the left side of the second jump. world cup messed us up and we couldnt do anything in the park. Wall ride is really sick now too.

^thats sick, hopefully ill be up tommarow I heard the wallride is mad fun now. whats goin on with the comp thing this weekend?

This is aaron im guessing right?

nice, I wish I wasn't missing all of this on spring break, I will be around next weekend the 30th so hopefully it all doesnt melt before I get one last go, I understand the worldcup was priority, I bet the bottom jump is nice, the final jump for bdx was real nice looking!

the last kicker is sick as hell, but you cant get speed for it. Not gunna tell you how to do your job after i just bitched you out but with how much use the 1/4 pipe will get you should push up a huge first kicker and make the last a smaller one.

after seeing what it takes to modify a jump into say... a 42 footer at my hill woods valley with one groomer operator and 2 guys with shovels/rakes, theres not much of an excuse other than management problems??? to make that first hit nice... it took less than 2 hrs to make the best jump Ive ever hit at woodsvalley... and this is a hill with less than 500 foot vertical... I bet it would take 2-3 groomers about 6-8 hrs to make a very nice park on brookside... one to be proud of

ill make the first one bigger. its not easy cause there is no snow above it but i can push snow up from the quarter pipe hopefully. ill let you guys know when it is done. park was pretty good on saturday though i thought. Let me know what you guys think. i will try to make everything bigger if i can.

the last two days were amazing i wont lie, the 1/4 probly doesnt need to be as wide as it is but its so much fun. the last table is one of the best jumps ive ever hit when the speed is there (after about 1 on sunday you couldnt get the speed) that jump might be better off a little smaller and make the first one real big with snow from the hip or the second jump if its possible

ya what alkyy said a bigger first jump would be key ( I know you like the first one aaron but... it needs to get bigger) and also could you please put some more snow on the left of the wallride i was getting on top ans sliding to the end of the left and then falling 6 feet to near flat but its set up soo sick right now.

P.S. this is dillon

im cutting the pipe and 1/4 tonight then tomorrow i will work on the jump. What do you guys think about maybe combining the first and second jump if we have to? I will try not to but if you want a bigger jump that may be the only solution. Let me know. Oh yeah that event event is going to be pretty nice this weekend.

oh yeah i am going to groom the park tomorrow morning so everyone should skip school or whatever. It is supposed to freeze tonight so it will be fast in the morning. Supposed to be sunny all day and high of 40 so hopefully it wont get real sticky. I am having no problem clearing that last jump right now and it is 45 right now at 2pm

first and second jump togeather wouldnt be bad, it would be worth it if its a nice 45 or so, Just a thought, in like a week it might get hard to keep the 1/4 hittable with how the weather is going, so would it even be worth pushing that into 2 big tables that will be able to hold up to the rain better?? Park was nice today the wallride was setup so nice. Hopefully i'll make it up thursday. Whats goin on with that comp do you have any more details?

no i dont have much for details all i know is they have 500 bucks to give out. i just cut the pipe and the quarter and they are both pretty good. i am going to try to make the jump bigger without losing one but i dont know if i can. we'll see.

what about taking snow from the hip? I wish I could skip school this week... I will be there saturday for sure, maybe sunday.

This is duane btw

It would be amazing if you could take the 1/4 pipe and move it to the first table....I didnt see anyone air out of it all day today

it would be amazing yet impossible without a winch. I wish i knew how to drive the winch cause i would do it for sure. it takes forever to work o that thing cause there is no snow in front of it
