Working

Today was my first day working full time at this job i got as a cashier at a computer store. Anyways, basically for 8 hours i was standing behind a register and just zoning out. I was so bored out of my mind, all i thought about was getting my next break or when i get off. Plus my legs hurt so much since im not allowed to sit or lean against anything. It makes me think, how do people deal with this shit on a daily basis? Does anyone here have a shitty job, and work full time everyday? How do you cope with it?

it's ten times worse when you work at a hill and its just snowed 4 feet and there's nothing to do but look out the window

why can't they let you sit, if you are just going to be behind a counter for hours? a happy employee is a productive employee.

I know exactly how you feel, I cant understand how some people work jobs like that for real. I could never work retail as my real job, but some people just dont have that much underneath the hood if you know what I mean? guess ignorance is bliss

You should probably just stop working at a shitty/pointless job. You should probably stop working almost entirely anway.

yeah i used to work on an assembly line for 8 or 12 hours a day depending, and i couldn't sit or lean or anything either. For the first few weeks my feet were so sore I couldn't do anything for the rest of the day. My advice is to wear cross training shoes or running shoes, something with an arch in it. And make up games to play.

lol i think you should be able to sit...thats kinda dumb..

make up some excuse about how you have a bad back and your doctor says it cant take that or something..

but i dunno i like jobs like that when i just zone out yeah its boring and time goes slow. but i just daydream really well haha

i had a job where i had to stand up for like 8 hours straight. no breaks either. which is illegal i think. but its easy money just to stand there so i took it. and you can't just give it up because how are you going to buy shit if you're broke. just try to find places to lean up or move around. sitting feels amazing after 8 hours of standing.
