Working on Cruise Ships?

Anyone ever worked on a cruise ship? I've heard really good things, but also really bad things. If you have, let me know your experiences. I'm thinking about doing it this summer...

If so, I know the wait list to get a job is crazy long, and usually they want foreigners due to tax reasons (that being said if you are from America, get based out of Canada, or vice verse maybe?)

Eh, I've done a lot of research about it

What were you thinking about doing? Then I'll elaborate with my research

this. i can imagine it's something of a party. I mean, you're on a boat....

Naw, you work. A LOT. As in 12 hour shifts on an average day, 14 on some. I mean, if you can work 12-14 hour days, and find time to meet girls, then you're a champ, and I imagine its done.....Workers aren't allowed to mingle with guest, and they have to wear their name tags at all times. That being said, workers are free to do other workers. And yes, that happens. But like I said, you work, a real lot.

not worth it then. new plan

1. get job on boat, quit day after they leave port

2. be stuck on cruise ship for whole trip

3. ???

4. profit

Hahaha YES!

Then again, working on the ship, you get time off, like every sixth port you can get off or something. So on that port, you still have to wear your nametag, but say you're on the beach with no shirt on, how do you wear a nametag? You don't........

Depending on what OP wants to do, I say go for it, maybe.

i was on a cruise this summer and talked to a worker about it. he loved it. the only thing is you work every single day all day. but you do get to see the world and when you buy drinks at night they just take it out of your paycheck. i think when you get hired your required to do a certain amount of time nonstop.

I read a article on this i think it was in maxim or something about how the cruise ship staff, have like raging banger parties in the 'staff' quarters. It also said that the staff are constantly banging, each other and the guests.

My ex did it for a year and he hated it. It depends on the line of work you are in but its not fun apparently and you have little to no free time. You eat shitty food, have shitty sleeping areas and don't get to communicate to the outside world often.
