Working at Blackcomb

Hi there. So I am planning to come to Canada in october or november, not sure yet. So I want to ski a lot and ski in the park, but as I will stay for at least half a year I have to work. I think it is possible to get employed in Whistler Blackcomb, I mean not super hard to. And does anybody know, do all employees in Blackcomb get a ski lift pass and will I be allowed :) to ski in park, cause it's kind of dangerous :) lol! For example, if I come to interview, should I say that I like to ski in park? Or it won't matter? Thanks in advance!!

Lots of jobs working for the mountain get you a free pass and housing. Whistler is the best.

they dont care what you ski as long as you can ski efficiently.

being your first time theyll most likely put you in safety or inside the roundhouse cleaning or something which sucks but its for the lifestyle right? you might even get lucky and be put on something desired... free pass, staff housing, life is good

the whistler lifestyle:

work for mountain

get free pass and staff housing

ski every day

apres after every day

and party every night

hell yeah to the post above..and don't worry about putting your employer off, everyone's there to ride. As long as you're at work when you're supposed to be they won't give a shit what you do. got my first whistler job lined up for november just working in retail which is a bit gay but i'll take anything i get to pay the bills.

nice atleast you got a job. just wait until ALL THE FREAKING aussies start showing up, its a full on shit show

in what way? just with so many turning up and eating up all the work? def noticed a few when i was out during the summer last year. Just wondering also..i'm heading out about the 1st of nov as my job kicks in on the 6th, when did the parks and pistes open up last year? just cos my crew from home aren't heading out to BC til late nov and need to find shit to fill my days with other than working.
