Working at Alta?

i scored a job there for the winter, just wondering if anyone else is working there this season? or has in the past for some feedback.

cool.

I was talking to this older man at my job in the summer and he said his grandson was working there this winter. so he'll be there, seemed cool but I have no idea who they are. it does seem like a fun sort of ski bum job though depending. ski all the time, live up there.

i'll be up there in november working for the winter at a-lodge. going with 3 other kids, making lots of bc booters too. just hope its a good snow year

Yeah you do live at Alf's. And yeah you do live underneath. But nevermind that business, I'm working at the pdog.

jea! watsons is the shit, I will most likley be there again this season, just like last. but not livin there, there are only two rooms at watsons. and yes u do live underneath alfs, and it suuuuuccckkks.

and my experiences working at alta are awesome, u can't beat pre-public rides, and not to mention a FREE pass.

already here bitches. livin about .25 miles from the bottom of BCC. and thats only a few miles from LCC, whos gettin first chair? uh, me.

see u there.

used to work at collins grill last winter. shit was sweet for sure. just dont try to go to school and do other shit at the same time...otherwise youll lose out on a LOT of sick skiing. but fuck yeah, altas employee parties are the shit!

Not you. Think of all the people who live in employee housing or get up there wayyyy earlier than you. First chair at Alta is so hard.

best ive ever done was 3rd chair...by employees can go up to watsons sometime and then ski down from there as they open the lifts and shit...thats pretty rad. im also gonna go ahead and claim last chair of the season this past one...

that's one of the benefits of Alf's actually. its pretty damn easy to get first chair on Sugarloaf, and most importantly Supreme when you live 1oo feet away.

nah dude not really

collins is kinda hard

wildcat easy

sunnyside easy, only did that once to go to a patsey

side jump

then how come I got it more then you last year?

I got a couple first chairs on sick days, one being presidents day, straight to eagles nest like usual. you just have to get up there early and claim that shit, its always worth standing there for a looooonnnnnngggg time before the lift opens.

besides I work at watsons fool, I get to ride up before they open, early lift rides up wildcat are siiick, then I ski down from watsons too and get back on the lift. usually jump in with 3 people in the front, works every time. bob dole knows what I'm talkin about...

my and two friends are road trippin out there from NH to work at alfs, w'ell be there on the 3rd or 4th.

I'm gonna go ahead and say because you woke up earlier than me? Yeah. That's one of the reasons people get to Alta earlier than others.

Ahhh hell yeah, i know durham. I'm from rye.

working at the rustler and living in the emp housing there. i'm sure we'll run into each other at some point.

working at alta is gay--

I hate the emplyoees at alta- they are all from  vermont and think there shit does'nt stink.  Let me just tell u----- U are nothing but a fucking carnie

I've lived at Alf's thee past two winters and it was a lot of fun. It drives you crazy at times, but you do get to ski a shitload. It's a great place to live if youreally enjoy skking but if not in can be pretty boring. The only things to do up there are smoke drink and ski. So youy will be in for a fun winter. I plan on working there parttime starting in January.

^^

I'm sorry but your stupid.

I work at alta, and I'm not from vermont, and sometimes my shit stinks pretty bad.

your just mad becuase I get to ski just as much as you, but with a free pass, get free food, pro-deals, and drink from a keg mid-mountain while u wait in line to get down the canyon while I'm making laps on the lift or gettin cat rides after they close.

u can call us whatever u want, but alta ski resort is not a carnival, sorry to dissapoint you, try the fair grounds.

well if the only things to do at alfs are drink smoke and ski then me and my two friends will be right a home, what else could you possibly be doing half way up a ski mountain all winter anyway? sounds like theres gunna be a lot of right coasters there that dont have stinky shits or whatever which is cool cause we'll be sharing bathrooms.

I wish... anyone knows josh, the instructor with dreads or Jason, I think, working at goldminers last year, they were pretty chill and showed me some spots while I was there...wont be able to make it this year...llllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammeeeeeeee

what is the employee housing like at these places? trying to figure out how much stuff i can bring and keep it comfortable for myself and everyone else. i haven't gotten much in the way of helpful info from the HR person. Also I guess I just want to know what the living situation is like. Anyone know?

^don't expect to have much room. and you will most likley be sharing a room with another person, if not 4 people to one room. just kind of depending on where your at. and the rooms are small, like a dorm room, but smaller, and just go a little bit smaller to be sure. I have seen pretty much all the housing now, except a few places. you only get hooked up if your a manager or somethin.

yeah i wasn't thinking i was gonna get hooked up with a sick room and view or something. thanks for the info though. muy helpful.

living in alta is cool until you realize having privacy and your own room is better. and to the kid who said "im living in the a lodge and building mad booters." have fun having beaters such as yourself get in the way in grizz and flag.
