Just wondering what Banff/Lake Lousie is like to work at compared to other places around Canada. I'm coming over at the end of the year and don't know which part of Canada to go to. So which parts do your reckon are the easiest to get a job, have good night life and good skiing?

might wanna check sunshine....i heard living up on the hill is just one big party....and um....try banff ive seen some pretty washed up bums working there so im sure you can get a job..

well banff has a wicked night life but is kinda expensive to live in unless you have some room mates, you could live at sunshine, but hte downside is that you can't go down the mountain every nihgt and come back as you please because of the gondola so if you wanna go into town you have to be sure you'll have somewhre to sleep that nihgt and a way to get back to the hill in the morning, you could live in louise wich is better but it's almost an hour from banff, the best bet is to work at norquay and then banff is 5 minutes away, and you could live in town or on the hill.

Got an email from the people at Banff saying the pay rate there is $6 an hour, what a fucking jip. Don't most palces at least give you $8 an hour....

I'm not sure where you inquired but that's ridiculous. I looked at work at some places and its actually more like 10 and hour and good $$ at places that are usually crappy. But keep lookin.

6 an hour though just aint worth it

$6 an hour??!! Did we lose a war?? thats not canada. that isnt even mexico.

Hey Yuki

I'm actually heading over to Whistler (after Uni exams finsih late Nov) first up with a mate of mine and we are going to try and get some work over there but if that fails probably head over to Banff, got someone who works with the lift company that could hopefully hook us up. Don't really care where/what I work, just need some money and a free ski pass!!!

Yes, it is $6.00 an hour to work at Louise or Sunshine on the Hill. Almost everywhere else in Canada it's 8 or 8.50.

Oh, and here's something to think about too. Live in Calgary.

Cheaper to live, more women, WAY better night life, easier to find jobs, COP has the best pipe in the Rockies and a decent park. Plus Nakiska which is 30 minutes away has the best park. And Sunshine and Louise are only an hour to an hour and a half away.

I'll be there in January.

Finding work in Nov in Whistler is no problem, but good luck with finding a place, seriously.

Id stay out of Calgary. Cities blow. Try the Horse. Minimum wage in BC is 8 i believe and only an hour to the Lake. Plus, its got so good snow.
