Work out!

well first i know creatine will give you boobies because i know a guy that is on it, but the thing with him is that is all he does, he barely works out. and when he does it is either bench or legs. but as you were saying your workout, you should try to do your tricepts and beicepts the same day. Because you are usign some smaller mucsles in the arm every day is you do tricepts and biecepts on different days.

yeah fuck getting creatine....if i get anything it will be weight gainer er No2 not sure yet im gonna go to the gnc store an see which is better for what i want

creatine works, what it does is let more water and blood into the muscle, which means more protiens are available and HGH to let them grow. The closest combo of supps you can take to get a steriod like affect with out steriods, is Creatine (with out sugar) , HMB, L-arginine, and a good recovery stacker with all the bcaa's. Creatine doesn't give you boobs. Having more fat than muscle on your chest does. Creatine is good for athletes and bodybuilders.

your body already creates its own creatine and its in beef, so why would it be so fucken bad for you?? and lets say your dream is to walk across that mr olypmia stage someday well then the only way to get massive like is to juice it up. seriously thats the only way to look like that. im not saying its impossible to look like that just from eating right and working out. i would definetly juice it up and i probably will when i get my hands on some but im gonna research the kind im gonna get before i take it and i dont see why it wouldnt be worth it because if you think about it, winning some of the top bodybuilding contests has big payouts. winning the arnold classic the first place took home a rolex, a hummer and like 120,000 g's in cash.

sorry to say but many of these replies r terrible and r wrong. first off the best thing to do to gain muscle is eat eat and then eat some more. try getting 1.5-2 grams of protein per LB of body weight. try to get around 4000 calories a day from clean foods not junk food. creatine is a very good supplement to use and its not a steroid and it will not make you grow tits. you might want to try creatine ethyl ester, it tastes terrible but doesnt give you stomach problems like regular mono can. for the most part NO2 is a waste of money, pump doesnt doesnt grow muscle, heavy compound movements and lots of food do. a little tip is do not go to GNC to buy your supplements, buy them from bodybuilding.com, much much cheaper and stay away from muscletech products becasue you can get better products for a 1/3 of the price.

as far as your training goes, your overtraining and robbing yourself of gains. if you want to learn more about training, diet, etc go to http://www.ironaddicts.com/forums/index.php? and read up. this is a website ran by one of the most well respected trainers around. if you think his methods and such as stupid or wrong just go into the "testamonial" section and look at peoples gains they have made working with this guy

heres a couple sample routines he wrote:

Day One:

Dips or Bench Press 2 x 6-8

Incline Press 2 x 10-12

Military Press, Or Hammer Shoulder Press 2 x 6-8

Tricep (skull crushers) Extensions or Tricep Pushdowns 2 x 10-12

Day Two:

Pull-Up 3 sets to failure

Barbell Row 2 x 8

EZ-Bar Or Dumbell Curl 1 x 10

Heavy Abs 3 x 10

Day Three

Squats 2 x 10

Deadlifts, or Stiff-Legged Deadlift 1 x 10

Pull-Troughs, Glute/Ham Raises, or Reverse Hypers

Here is a rotating style routine with the same basic structure, but having two sets of lifts that rotate every week. This helps keep the trainee from hitting sticking points as fast as on a single rotation format.

Day one, week one

Dips 3 x 10

Incline Bench Press 3 x 6

Lateral Raise 4 x 10

Laying Tricep Extensions 3 x 8-10

Day two, week one

Wide Grip Pull-Down/Up 3 x 8

Chest Supported Row, or Barbell Row 3 x 8-10

Barbell Curl 3 x 10

Resistance Abs 3 x 10

Day three, week one

Squat 3 x 6-10

Leg Press 2 x 15

Good-Morning or Stiff-Legged Deadlift 2 x 8

Calf Raise RP 2 x 15/30

Day one, week two

Bench Press 3 x 6-10

Incline DB Press 2 x 10-12

Military Press 3 x 10

Tricep Pus-Downs 3 x 8-10

Day two, week two

Supinated Grip Pull-Down/Up 4 x 8

Dumbbell Row 3 x 10

Dumbbell Curl 3 x 8

Reverse Curl 2 x 10

Hanging Leg Raises

Day three, week two

Deadlift 1 x 8

Safety Squat, or hack squat, 2 x 6-10

Glute/Ham Raise 3 x 8

Leg Press Calf Raise 3 x 15

Only work out with weights three times a week. Less can be more. Do coordinatioin work as well, that wont put on muscle weigth but improve strength , allowing you to increase your weight lifting , increasing inturn your muscle size.

And VERY IMPORTANT, vary not the order of what muscle groups ou train , but the exercises for each muscle group. So every week cycle through and include a diffrent routine for each muscle group

uhh if ur small like me try Weight Gainer 1650 or something... it basically high protein and calories and you need that to build muscle. the more fat you can put on the more muscle will come. since all fat is dormant muscle tissue. if you aint got nothing to build muscle off of your not going to get bigger, just stronger

i have a 4 pack at 15% body fat, so i disagree with the 7% theory. my strategy is to get to 10-12% and get bigger, stronger abs, then i will have one of these huge 6 packs.

also, for whey protein, find a brand that has the least amount of calories from fat in it. at least thats what my nutrition counselor told me to do... and 4000 calories a day is too much, unless you're 220 or more. if you're in the 140-160 lb range, i'd recommend goign for about 3200 or so. make sure you eat a LOT of whole wheat bread, bagels, etc. Don't eat a ton of red meat, go for things like fish, chicken, and turkey. meat with little fat and a lot of protein.

an easy way to really gain a lot of weight is eating a bagel or 2 and aevery morning with light cream cheese or peanut butter on it. throw in a piece of fruit like a bannana, orange, or apple (i recommend bannana, due to it giving you energy and making sure you don't cramp up as much).

only lift 3 times a week 4 out of every 5 or so weeks. then take a week off and just run, shoot hoops, wrestle, play football, whatever you're trying to become better at. make sure you do some form of cardio 3 or 4x a week.

beer also slows down your progress, and causes you to lose motivation (being too hungover the next day to do anything). i can't cut beer out of my diet, but maybe you can.

if yo only weigh 140 you sounds like a small ass guy, i would say cut any cardio outta your diet and power lift... make sure you use mega whey from GNC... i think you catch the drift by now that creatine is bad for ou

^size dont matter... i weighed 125 my senior year of HS and i was benching 245... thats after lifting 5 straight years for football and being one of the fastest on the team. lettering 2 years for my junior and senior years only weighing 120+. size dont mean shit its the fact that you fight

yeah rock4185 or whatever had it right with the protein talk. Get a good mix of carbs and protein before you lift, then just load up protein afterward... run and do core strength excercises too... they make you feel really good and loose, and help build up your core to enable your other muscles to get bigger. Not that I'm a workout guru, but I trained for nordic skiing on a national level for a while and it was a lot of multiple workouts a day... less focused on muscle growth though, obviously

everyone has their own way of working out. the way i do works excellent for me and im not gonna change my ways. you just gotta find what works best for you and thats the hardest part because it takes so much time and effort to find the most effective routines. i used to be all about benching a couple years ago but now that i know what exercise do what and how made me realize that bench pressing is the most stupid exercise out there. it doesnt build muscle. the only thing it builds is an ego and in my mind thats a terrible thing to have. who cares if you can bench 350lbs. bodybuilding isnt about lifting heavy ass weights. its about building solid defined muscle

*** After all my writing, I noticed I'd end up writing a book telling you why 99% of the posts here were COMPLETELY wrong. Save yourself some time, read some of this, then go to http://www.bodybuilding.com and get the correct information.

Minus MadTrix4185, everything you guys've said is complete bull. I'm not going to claim I'm anywhere near an expert on this stuff, but I'm really into lifting, dieting, etc. to the point where I gave up 98% of my drinking (for anyone who knows me, that's a lot...and if you don't know me, go to the bonus section of the h30 films hibachi king and look for the drunk kid taking hot sauce shots).

Putting on mass is all about eating, your lifting regiment, and sleep. MadTrix is completey correct in saying that to put on mass you should be consuming 1.5 to 2 g of protein per pound. This conists of eating lots of lean meats and also constitutes spending more money on whole foods. Buying wheat bread does not count...if you're going to eat bread and it doesn't say whole grain on it you're wasting your time. Wheat and whole grain are two completely different things.

Creatine does NOT make you fat and does NOT give you bitch tits. First off, creatine works by increasing the amount of ATP (i.e. energy) in your muscles. You will be able to go for longer and go harder if you take it correctly. This means drinking a lot of water. I consume well over 128 oz of water/day (about 64 oz of that is consumed while at the gym). On a side note, you want creatine monohydrate. The new stuff they're marketing as the next big thing isn't true.

You will see ZERO benefit if you replace your daily liquid consumption of water with something else (that includes gatorade) while taking creatine. Don't take that wrong b/c you can drink really anything that's low in sugars (that's where most of those juices and sodas lead you wrong). The reason you need so much water during creatine consumption is that creatine actually absorbs the water from your body and stores it in your muscles. You need to replace that water. Do yourself a healthy favor if you decide to take creatine...DON'T take too much and follow the prescribed amount.

The reason people are saying guys get wrinkly after taking creatine is not from the creatine and has nothing to do with it. When you stop lifting you lose a lot of the pump and your muscles will start to flatten out. Your skin needs to contract. Chances are that those guys with wrinkly skin use to be exceptionally lean and jacked (not to mention probably pretty tan). The tight skin to shrinkage causes the wrinkles. For example, why do you think pregnant women get stretch marks? It's not from creatine.

Redbass is slightly correct. I lift 4 times/week during dieting and 6 during bulking. The number of times you lift per week depends on your cycle. If you're doing a 2 day cycle (i.e. the next time you lift the same muscle group is every 2 worksouts. In other words, my 2 cycle is arms/back/shoulders the next day is legs/chest and repeat). When I'm bulking I'll do chest/tris, back/bis, legs, shoulders/traps/forearms and I'll lift 6 days/week. I don't do cardio during this time, but the reason it's ok for me to do 6 days of lifting is because by the next time I do for instance chest/tris it has been 4 or 5 days since the last time I did them. This gives that muscle group enough time to recover.

As a quick example during bulking, I'll eat the following:

6:30 am

5 g glutamine

1 whole egg

5 egg whites

2 oz non-fat mozzerella cheese

1/2 pepper

or

2 scoops whey

pancakes

10:30 Meal replacement shake

1:30 1/2 oatmeal, 12 oz chicken, 1 sweet potato

5:30 12 oz chicken on 2 pieces of whole grain bread

6:30 lift

8:30 (right after lifting) 1 scoop whey, 16 oz chicken or 16 oz lean beef (london broil, etc.), 5 g creatine

11:00 pm 1 scoop whey, can of tuna fish

That constitutes about 3000-4000 calories and splitting it up like that my fat gain is minimal. That contains about 250-300 g protein. I take creatine, glutamine, and whey...that's it. NO is worth it depending on your budget, but it's not always worth it. Make sure you get 7-8 hours of sleep or you won't recover properly.

You have to find what works for you, but consumption of about 3000-4000 calories for a normal say 5'8" person is about right to gain mass.

The best suggestion I can offer you is to NOT ask the people here. Go to http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun and read their articles. The site is exceptional, has UNBELIEVABLY good prices on products, the people that run the site are ridiculously nice and helpful, and the people who write the articles know what they're talking about, not only based on their degrees, but by their appearance.

To give you an idea, I'm 5'6", at dieting weight I'm 150-155 lbs, and am 6.1% body fat (I'm into it...I measured yesterday). Most of the people I know who're 5'6"ish are a higher body fat % and weight around 135-140.

On a side note, almost all whey is the same. It's a cheese extract among other things. The delivery system and the extra shit in it are what differentiate them. Whoever said try to get whey with as little fat in it as possible is buying the wrong shit and isn't buying pure whey. Every bag of whey I've ever seen has no more than 3g of fat in it per serving and no more than 1.5 g saturated fat. You must be looking at smoothie mix or some sort of protein mix crap.

d-loc, saying the more fat you put on the more muscle will come isn't true at all.

so your not going to be able to bench as much if you jsut tone rather than build muscle

ok u said that every1 else was wrong n ur right but the thing is not every1 needs 4000 calories everyday so ur wrong right there for a start, the way to win a comp like the arnold one is yeah get huge but u gotta take the fat off ur body thats wut they look for, more tone then huge amount of muscle

ok well eat 2000 calories a day and come back in a year and tell me how much progress youve made. that 2000 calories the FDA or whoever reccomends is for people who dont exercise, when you lift weights and do cardio you body needs a lot more food then everyday people. by the way cardio is actually a good thing even if your skinny, its a two way street, it increases hunger while allowing you to control your body fat. try doing 30-45 minutes of cardio in the morning and youll be hungry the rest of the day while still burning fat.

d-loc, creatine is for muscle recovery, not directly to build muscle.

aussieskiier, for most people 5'8" I'd say most people are about 150-170 lbs. 3000-4000 calories is a big range for calories and that's about right according to most calorie equations. go search daily caloric intake on google.

Madtrix actually the best way to burn fat is to build muscle. For every pound of muscle that you have you burn 50 more calories a day. Also if you lift weights your body will burn more fat then you would if you ran for 1 hour because the fat keeps on burning for up to 24 hours compared to running which usually lasts only few hours.

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

that's definitely true. Although, everything is completely debatable, the general rule I've learned from bodybuilders is that when you wanna get bigger you don't do cardio and keep your eating up. during cutting you boost the cardio, but not too much.

the more muscle you have the more you'll burn at rest.

true lifting weights does burn fat but so does doing cardio, if you do 30-45 minutes of cardio im saying your going to be hungry all day which will make you eat like a horse which grows muscle, while the cardio at the same time is burning fat so you stay at roughly the same body fat % while getting bigger.

jus so people know there are many different ways to train and diet, etc. and what works for me might not work for another. all the advise i have given is from things i have read mostly from iron addict and dante (dogg crap) who are HIT trainers and then used what i have read on myself and have had great results from it.

i have a weight gainer shake by universal called max muscle. 3100 calories in a glass plus my usualy 4 or 5 full meals a day. I CAN NOT GAIN FUCKING WEIGHT. think it has something to do with me shitting 5 times a day? twice before i leave for school in the morning? big ones that make islands come up out of the water?

you should just try workin out harder cuz i just do an ab workout every night and ive only been doin it for like 2 weeks n i am already gettin a 6 pack

Remember that after every dark night their is a brighter day, so hold your head up, stick out your chest and get over it

I'm in kinesiology at university so I know what I'm talking about:

1) If your caloric intake is = or < your caloric need (how much you use in a day) You will NEVER gain weight.

2) Increase your food consumption. You may have to put on fat in order to convert it to muscle. I used to be 6'0" 125lbs and now I'm 6'1" 160, I know how hard it is to gain weight. I do very little exercise from the end of track season until mid November and I build up fat, then I work out and convert it to muscle.

3) AFTER EVERY WORKOUT: Eat something high in complex carbohydrates ie: a banana or a sandwich with whole wheat bread. If not your body will break down muscle protein to feed it's energy needs.

4) Use Whey protein. It's all natural and has no adverse side effects. It not only promotes muscle growth but also muscle recovery and improves your immune system.

5) Don't OVER WORKOUT! Give yourself 72 hours minimum for your muscles to recover. Working out damages muscle fibers which then have to be rebuilt. If they do not have adequate time they will be fighting an uphill battle and you won't be able to get bigger.

6) Finally, you MUST vary your workout. If you go to a gym just try out all of the machines for the upper body. No need for a routine. Routines make it hard to quit early but your body gets into a rut and your improvement will plateau. If you are always doing a new random workout, this will never happen.

Hope this helps you out dude. I've been working out for a couple years and I went from being the scrawny weak kid to being noticed at the beach!

'I like long walks on the beach...sipping champagne by the fire...gutting dear... (Tweaks_Rock_me)

"Silly faggot, dicks are for chicks." (Skierman)

6'1 and 160 is nothing to bragg about and a banana and a sandwich isnt gonna do much after your workout. i take a serving of mass tech after my workout which has 150gs of carbs and to substitute for that when i run out of mass tech is a shitload of raisins and a shitload of rice. my dailt carb intake is well over 400g's a day and my protein is well over 300gs a day
