Work in perisher

hi everybody

i'm looking forward to go next season to perisher and

i'm just wondering if anybody of you was or is working in perisher ski resort and how the work, skiing, park is there.

thanks for sharing some experience :)

Came in to say a little late but you're talking about next year. PArk looks pretty solid from the edits I've been seeing.

Avoid being a lifty, everyone I have talked to on the hill says they hate being a lifty. Contact Ski Rider Motel. They're always looking for staff and you pretty much get to ski everyday. Bar/restaurant jobs are good as you work night time. Only benefit of working for Perisher is the free pass, however you will make more money and ski more if you work out of the resort. A pass is only 700 right now so I recommended getting pass protection and if you don't end up coming over to Aus, just bullshit you tore your ACL and they'll refund you most likely. Check T&Cs.

I've worked five years for perisher as an instructor. Liked it the first few years but then got real sick of it. I too recommend buying the freedom pass now for $700 (you only have to pay $200 now, balance next June) and then working another job. Nights or something and have more time to ride. Perisher as a company are pretty shitty to work for to be honest. The park is so on point though. Got it all over Thredbo. The park crew are amazing and Charles Beckinsale is a genius. Either way, live in Jindabyne, not up the hill. So much fun here I can't stop coming back! good luck man.

Charles Beckinsale works at Perisher now, I too vouch for thredbo, much better place to live. The only thing better about Perisher is the Park.

bump for anyone with more info on this, been potentially looking at applying for next summer.

My issue is that everywhere only seems to conduct interviews in australia and there doesn't seem to be anything about telephone/skype interviews. I'm working the winter season in austria until end of april so can't really make a casual trip out to australia for an interview

I did write a e-mail to perisher about the interview and they wrote back it wouldn't be a problem to do the interview over skype or something.
