I have never been ashamed to be an American, but there have been times I have been sadden by the US and have had a hard time maintaining a hopefully opinion of the US.

As was stated, this is a turning corner for many people, myself included, and I am definitely more hopeful for our future than I was in the past 8 years.
 
I'm no expert on Obama, but damn yo! He's an inspirational, smart dude who looks like he has the makings of a great leader. Great speech, great victory. Watching history go down was dope.

P.S. You haters should dip out of this thread. Like I said I'm not all up into the two candidates policies and shit but you guys sound fully retarded. Are you even old enough to vote?

Obama is the winner. Every liberal has suffered through Bush for eight years of inept foolish leadership.

He is the president elect and I expect everyone to support him... Until and if he fucks up.
 
I have been waiting so long for this day. Thank god he won and not mccain. I can't wait for the next 4 years to see how they go. I hope they are for the better.

Well kids, we just witnessed history. FUCKING MOMENTOUS history. That was the most amazing public event I've ever witnessed... I'm definitely thinking of cross-country road tripping for the inauguration. Until then, I guess I'll just feel less need to call myself a Canadian to foreigners.
 
you know what sucks, and its sad but true, the world will test obama to his limits, they will want to see what his breaking point is. he will inherit one of the largest challenges to face this country in over a decade.

i strongly disagree with this man, and its my right to believe that. i actually like the guy and think he will unite the country (he already is) i just cannot side with his beliefs for this country.

he did run a good campaign, he ran it to win, McCain did a bad job in my opinion but he is old haha. it will be a very interesting 4 years thats for sure.

if you think im rich, im far from it. my parents are not rich either. Im pretty sure we get more tax breaks under obamas plan. It is the fact that taxing the rich so much IS NOT RIGHT and it is going to turn into a depression. It's happened before in history. Selfish? really? think about all the jobs created from rich people and big companies. Freedom is what makes America great. The government is no supposed to take care of me. I am supposed to take care of myself. Fuck the governments health plan. It's bad on so many reasons and we dont need to be like the rest of the world.

now that the election is over, will mccain and obama go back to washington DC and be senators like they were previously elected to do?

america is still the greatest country in the world, and we have the illegal immigration to prove it.

obama will immediately usher in some national unity and international respect. lets hope he can build on that.
