Woodward Tahoe/Boreal all access pass?

OK, so I live in Oakland, CA and I copped the epic pass for the first time last year, and I did indeed get my money's worth for sure. Plenty of northstar days plus a sick trip to keystone, I can't complain. Shout out to borty for throwing me a 2-for-1 coupon which gave me the chance to ride on the literal last day of the season at alpine with my ikon squad too.

But I've been trying to up my park game and the Woodward Tahoe/Boreal all access pass is staring me in the face rn. My old ass could really use a foam pit to dial shit in, cuz my knees did not like the amount of landings they took last season, and I never even got to the misty 5 goal I had set for myself. Not to mention Boreal is a good 30-60 minutes less of a drive than anything else in tahoe. Anybody bought that pass before? Is it worth it? Anything I should know before I cop?

Glad you made it out. I never got to squaw or alpine :( i got a few homewood days in at least though.

I thought about grabbing one if the all access passes for this year. One of my friends I worked with and rode/skated with last summer moved there for work this last season. I didn't ened up doing it because I yad 4 days on my dp pass and ability to get some comps(although the death of spring I never used any lol)

If I move near donner next season I'm ginna grab a boreal pass instead of a dp. Might get the full access just to skate and maybe occasionally hit the tramps or the foam pits if it's not crowded.

1 of my other friends worked there for a few years in his summers and hit the bunker pretty regularly. Said it was pretty sick. I don't think he's ginna do any American winter anymore but he made it sound dope.

I'm trying ti get less shitty at skating. And the other stuff looks fun to try. Ill holler if I pull the trigger and buy one.

Best thing going right now is that there first pass cut off is Halloween I believe. That's dope because I can wait and confirm that I'll br working/living in the tahoe area again before buying it.

I'm done with northstar and have a possible job at another joing but well see how that works out. Let me know if you buy one. Id be more likely to try the foam pits and tramps if I was with someone else.

Sparknotes: i dont have one, ill prolly buy one

Word, I'll keep you posted. And yeah the Halloween price cutoff is pretty dope, it's crazy that the pass price stays the same for a full month after access opens up. If I do pull the trigger it'll probably be at the end of September so I can start hitting the bunker in early October. I'm wondering too if their "Woodward Parkski" rentals are included, and if not what those will cost each time. It's kinda vague on the site:

"For Woodward Parkski™ and Parkboard™ –Bring your ski/snowboard boots for the indoor Woodward Parkski™ and Woodward Parkboard™ equipment, as well as a helmet. All equipment is available to rent for an additional fee once on-site."

I can't tell if they're saying BYO boots & helmet or else we'll rent you those, or if they're saying that you have to rent the parkskis each time too. Big difference in value on the pass if I have to spend bread every time on the parkski rentals. But I would definitely have a fucking blast launching into the foam pit, sounds like a whole different game than trying to approximate tricks on a tramp.

Also I've been skating for decades and would totally be down for some sessions in there. I can ollie and 180 and shit, bomb the fuck out of hills, but I haven't even tried to kickflip in - fuck - 8 years?? I'm an old man transportation skater at this point, but it would be dope to get some vert chops, and relearn a few of the old skate tricks I used to have in my 20s.

And who tf downvoted this post? Downvote for the all access pass itself, or just fuck me? I need details.

Word Im terrible smat skating but the mtn was too crowded last summer so I bought one cause skatepark was right next to my apartment and nobody drives a ling way to a ski area to ride a smaller skatepark in colder weather. Just built a mini in my yard 2 weeks ago.and got a new deck last month.

Pretty shit but I'm learning. Trying to get better without doing anything too sketchy.

Def would be fun to learn some more on medges and rails, get better at flip tricks maybe, or just pump around and hit some tranny

Good news - I just got an email back from woodward tahoe, and the "woodward parkski" rentals are included with the all-access pass. 95% sure I'll cop at this point, but you never know. I'll hold out until the end of September just to make sure murder hornets don't overtake the place or something equally 2020ish.

Word yeah. I guess even if I went once a week it's worth it. Im sure I'd find a few peeps to skate with and stuff if I went regularly. I'll most likely buy it. It's a pretty good deal.

I was more poor last fall. Hopefully will be in decent shape this fall. And if Im gonna live over closer to there seems like a no brainer to grab it. Ill prolly wait to confirm a job and then go from there.

Welp, my girl and I are now planning to move up to sac in a month or two, and woodward seems like they're planning to be open as usual this season, so I pulled the trigger on the all-access pass. I'll be stoked to be able to hit the foam pit in october before the snow starts falling. Here's hoping the 'rona dies down a lot more by then...

I might tske a job In WA. So ill have to wait and see where Im at. But i think we have till Halloween to buy the pass at that price.

Where at in WA? I grew up in Seattle, learned to ski after school night skiing at ski acres. Crystal and Stevens Pass are pretty legit from what I remember too, but that info is over 20 years old. Of course whistler/BC is just a couple hours away too.

Aye Borty did you end up moving to WA?

Shit sorry. Yeah will be starting at crystal next month living at the base of the mtn. Stoked on getting the fuck away from vail. Will be in Tahoe early November for a week.will prolly skate skatehouse and some reno parks a bit.

Hell yeah, Crystal was always my splurge when I lived in 206. Cut my teeth on the $10 night skiing tickets at Ski Acres, shit was so awesomely blue collar. So many mfs skiing in jeans and shit, just regular clothes like it was no big deal. But Crystal has some real shit, stoked for ya mane. Holler when you're in Tahoe, I'd be down to link up.
