does this mean the dumbasses at copper are gonna finally leave the mountain open untill the snow melts instead of closing it in april when theres 20 feet of snow at the base?

1. Doesn't hurt at all.

2. Copper at Woodward is amazing. Go, now.

3. Ski resorts do not make money by staying open late.

More video to come. This was just the tip of the iceberg.

I was in CO a few weeks ago when the snow sucked looking for something fun to do. I blew it. That looks awesome. I wish I saw them hit the rails though. Interested to see how that setup works.

Yes, soon. This was just the intro video. We'll really start to tee it off in the upcoming weeks.

As always, keep checking the videos section of the site.

so im goin to vail and breck next week and i really wanna check this shit out, looks so sick, but im like, 24 haha, am i gonna be the oldest dude there?

No, it isn't bogus at all.

You're paying for coaching, the training and initiation into the facility. $35 an hour is nothing when you see what this place has to offer. Not to mention, after you do the "One Hit Wonder" session you can do $25 drop in sessions.

$12.50 an hour to tear this place up is a steal.

35 dollars an hour for 2 hours of coaching and training i don't want? how hard is it to jump into a foam pit, seriously. I have no problem with the 25 bucks for 2 hours, but the "training" session is garbage. This is only worth it if mommy or daddy are paying, if you are paying for yourself, there is no way to justify dropping that cash unless you are rolling in dough.

the training session is just for insurance purposes and although jumping into foam isn't hard, skiing down snowflex is pretty difficult for some, especially inexperienced snowboarders. in the 2 hours or so that we sessioned woodward, we saw 5 or 6 snowboarders catch an edge and either fall on the drop ramp or send themselves into the gymnastic area.

people who think the jump is too small: Ryanvdonk

people who think the jump is just right: Hornbeck, Ahmet, Taylor Seaton, Josh Bishop, Hibbert, Mike Clarke, Matt Harvey

umm, where did they say they wouldnt like a bigger jump? the smallness of it limits what tricks people can work on, and forces those who want to train doubles to go waterramping instead. people love to hate when someone voices an opinion that differs from theirs, so relax and accept that someone thinks differently than yourself.

im sorry i didnt know woodward was meant to be pro-only double training facility. i guess im not baller enuff to enjoy myself.
think before speaking pleaseeeee.

there going to be alot of people who have the balls to do doubls into the foam who would never do it on snow. you dont have to be pro to commit to landing into foam

that wasnt really my point. he just came across as arrogant being the only naysayer in this thread, which im sure TONS of kids are stoked about, and its such a sick idea and cheap for what ur able to do, to complain that its not big enough just pissed me off

im sorry if i want to work on stuff, you'd be suprised how many people do doubles on waterramps. ive heard so many good things about foam pits that its a little disappointing to me that the smallness limits the potential of what you can learn. would a bigger jump hurt you from learning smaller tricks? no, it would give you more opportunity to work on your grabs with them and improve air awareness. i do think the tramps into foam pits look like a ton of fun. but why should something be taboo to critique? everything can be improved.

So then come and do a day camp. If you have a pass it's $159 for a full day. You get low ratio (sometimes even one on one) coaching for an entire day, half in the barn and half on snow plus a free drop in session that night. It's the same price as 4 drop in's and the safety course and it qualifies you to come to drop-in sessions thereafter.

If you are a local to the area, you should have come last week during locals week where you could have done your one hit wonder class for $35.

The bottom line is, nobody gets away with not doing the safety session. Simon did one, are you better than him?

Copper will still close in April. Woodward at Copper will however have a park open on the mountain until August 8th. There will be full week sessions just like all of the other summer camps. The difference will be the safe barn facility, cheaper travel, likely closer to your home and it will be a good portion less expensive than the rest.

Oh yah, also forgot to mention. Had a 12 year old girl on a snowboard doing double back 180's stomped to her feet and backside rodeo 5s last night...so doubles are absolutely learnable.

Also, if it starts to feel slow at all, just ask the coach that's throwing you the rope to the pit to spray down the inrun and it gets significantly faster.

thats nearly as much as i paid for my season pass, what if you just wanna sesh the foam pit or airbag? i was really stoked on woodward while they were building it, but now that its open, i'm really dissapointed with how expensive it is.

i hear youve never even hit a park feature in your life why would you waste your time on water ramps

Noooooooooooooooooooo... im going to Co the first week in April and that is when they are closed for some gay snowboarder event :( I wanted to go so bad.

You hear? You're a good listener. If you heard it from the people I skied with from last year then that's right. If you talk to the people I ski with today then you're wrong. Good observations.
