Anyone ever made a wooden rail? i know pipe is better but all i have is wood right now.....any suggestions?

if you mean sliding on wood, no. but pvc on top of a wood 'structure' yes

yes i have. ive made 2. your edges dig into the wood if you dont land perfect and you flip. theyre fun though but spend the extra time and get pvc to put on top of them. we just leave them at the school because they suck and no one wants them. one of my friends has this 6 inch gap where he couldnt find wood that would fit, so we filled it with snow. it worked until i landed right on the gap. flip.

wood is a lot slower isn't it? i just built one today, only about 12 feet long and i greased it every time after i watered and froze it.

You see that piece of metal on the bottom? You can buy them in like 12 foot sections from a hardware store that sells metal studs. They fit perfectly over a 2x4 and can be screwed on through the sides...

^ Ha thought i was the only one we finished off my basement with those and i used the leftover pieces to build a sick double kink! Havent sessionit yet ill let ya know.

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

i'm not sure if the vid is up on magic mtns website still but it had dumont and a few others sessioning the massive wood rail at the base lodge. i forget who it was but one of them took a fat digger...fat enough to turn me off on wood rails

YO, if your gonna make a rail outa wood.. two two by fours.. on their sides held up at each end with suports.. isnt gonna cut it.. all of my 175 lbs busted both of this kids boards and his rail is now two...

 
i made a wood flat rail, you have to do a lot of caculating to make sure u dont mess up with the bolts to the supports though, ill try and post some plans sometime

i made one, its easy, just use pressure treated so that it doesent rot and then make some legs and hammer the nails hard enough and they go in past the surface, wax it up and its all good
