Wood v. thc

i tried searching the forums but couldn't find a straight answer. so can some one tell me how the wood core scratches would ski differently than the thc ones or if it would make any noticeable difference and also how about durability?
 
All I know is that the THC wears out a lot faster according to numerous friends and people that I've heard talk about their experiences. I know a few people that work at shops that thin that THC is one of the worst things out there as well.
 
Thc=foam+wood

wood=only wood

foam=poop

wood=great

wood+foam=ok but still not that good

Ok non of that makes sense but thc will be softer and will loose pop much faster.
 
thats what i've heard as well. It was funny, because I was at a rossi sale at a ski expo, and even though it was clear i wasn't going to buy anything because the prices were exorbitantly high, the rep kept trying to convince me that the thc core never breaks down and is the same after over 600 days of skiing. I thought it was weird, because it was clearly bullshit, and usually if it's obvious you aren't buying anything and no-one else is around, reps will be straight with you.
 
this is from experience

first i had proteens which were wood, the flex and pop were medium when i got them. over two yrs the skis got softer but didnt lose too much. then i got them warenteed and got a pair of fs (04-05)back. the flex was similar, a lil stiffer and i thought more pop, in my opinion the skis might have worn down to the same as the wood but they never got worse if that makes any sense. personnaly i couldnt tell a huge difference between the two.
 
well the thc is suppose to be a better core a tiny weeny bit stiffer n it's a lighter ski. I couldn't tell you about the durability but the people i know never had any problems with there's
 
i thought the THC core was three part, wood, foam and like some rubber based layer, giving it more flex, two years on my scratches and they still have pop and lots of flex, my fuja's have more pop though (probly cause their new)
 
what do you think would be better for all mountain and what would be lighter and have more pop?
 
i can't tell if that was E-sarcasm or not, so if it was my mistake. and if you're serious, i'd like to see any ski after 600 days of hard skiing thats still even intact, let alone with the same flex and stiffness as it was when new.
 
seriously, i ski my scratches all the time, and all this core stuff, apart from that foam nonsense, isnt really that big a deal, i never even notice it after being on wood skis for so long.
 
THC is triple hybrid core made of wood foam and rubber. The THC has a poppier flex and is more expensive to make making the FS more expensive. The Sprayer is all wood making it less expensive and the flex has more butter. The FS will last longer under the same conditions aganst the Sprayer
