Hey wats up?? im good at rails, easy for me to do any shape...size. all the rails i have done are wood though.....i scoped out a wood rail off of a deck, it seems to easyily slideable. any special tips i should know about wood rails before i destroy this bitch??

ok, i fucked up, i have never done a wood rail before....any tips on sliding a wood rail compared to a metal one??

pour water on it the night before... let it freeze, that way it will fill in all the tiny holes in the wood, and you edges wont get stuck, and you won't nut yourself

also get a lot more speed. Wood rails slow you down a LOT more than metal ones. If you don't have enough speed you'll fall off and get splinters in your ass

the only way that you can get on the rail is to stand on top above it and jump onto it....its slanted down, im trying it here in a little bit....

some woods wont work, especially old weathered wood, unless its really waxed up. I hit an old wooden handrail and at shit on it, my edges dug right in, 2 text it take a butter knife and just whack the rail with it, if it leaves a huge mark, ur fucked if not ur un good shape, use skis with dull edges

yeah and don't lean into it as much with your front foot coz if your front edge catches you're fucked whereas back edge catching you can recover from. and agreed with the butterknife, make sure it's not really soft wood, make sure it's pretty dense.

 
make sure you edges dont stick in the wood or esle you land on your face, as long as there is no down to flat piece you are usually just fine though

When you jump onto it, try to land with your momentum going forward instead of dropping down onto it, that way your speed will carry and you will have less chance of catching an edge. If you have enough ski control it never hurts to angle your lead ski either.

i use wood in my yard cuz its all i have now. if u put water on it even if it doesnt free, it works
