so i just built a wooden box and currently i'm poor broke shit and cant afford material to put on top of it.
i always see people do wooden rails and such but do they do anything in preparation?
its about 17 feet X 4 inches

Would rails have to be cold. I've ridden wood rails in the dead of winter and they are tons of fun. Especially if you rub snow on them and kinda make a sheet of ice that helps you slide. When the spring hits though and the sun warms that wood, your edges can catch very easily and it's no fun. So in the cold go hit some wood rails cause it's fun!

get PVC pipe/s big or small. You can lay down muliple small ones. just skrew through the bottom of your wood into the bottom of the pvc. worked for me.

haha definatley sand it then wax it. I think a friend of mine had some pvc pipe laying around that he put on his. that stuff is really cheap.

pvc pipes don't cost shit and will work much better....
look into the build-a-jib101 cult brah !

just make a rail, you can get a 10 foot metal rail at home depot for about 15$, then just get some 2x4 and some fencing posts and you have a rail... will post pictures later forsure

it also depends alot on the type of wood ya know....
better spend 10 bucks and get yourself some pvc pipes and screws and get a better setup ...
but thats just my opinion ....
