Wood rails

i find for wood rais, just lean back and go fast, there is no need to file the living daylights out of your edges, just go a bit faster than you would for metal rails.
 
yeah catching on a wood is likely. like i think over 50 percent of the time you're flipping and taking you back edge to your skull
 
dude, i dont know what your talkin about. i never eat shit when i slide wood rails, maybe it would be easier for you if you pulled all of the collective splinter out of your ass, from every time you "eat shit".
 
just be light on your feet and make sure there are no crazy knots on the jib. Use a plainer if you have to, but if you are light on the feet and dont have ass-sharp edges you will be fine!

dont worry about it, ive slid wood with the bark still on it. just go fast, commit, and keep your edges up and youll be fine
 
i slide a log with no bark on it, and it always seemed to slide better when it was really cold, probly cause the wood is allot softer when it is warm so ure edges wont dig into it as easily
 
If you stay leaning back, you wont catch an edge, so it's pefectly safe to go faster, and it does make it easier
 
Wood rails work best when it is below freezing, I actually slid a 12 flat wood rail early this year, it was easy. Me and my friend just put a little bit of snow on it to make it slicker. It was pretty good, and then we screwed pvc on it later in the year and that worked extremely well.
 
yeah its not a problem as long as you commit to it. the one i slid was far from straight and flat, but i just put some snow on it and it was below freezing if i remember correctly, and it slid just fine. just keep those edges up
