WonderPana 66 Filter System

I've been seriously considering selling my lumix 7-14 and buying a tokina because of how much shooting video in broad daylight with no ND sucks. This could be a good option but it doesn't look like I'll be able to mount my camera on a glidecam with this attached.

Pretty much the only reason I never gave the 7-14mm serious consideration. I really want the Olympus 12mm f2; the size of the Tokina on the GH2 is just plain obnoxious.

I don't really think the size is that obnoxious. I'll take the obnoxious size for an extra stop of light and ability to take ND filters either way. Honestly I'm not too happy with the image the 7-14 produces either (might have to do with the fact that I often end up shooting at f22 to keep my shutter speed below 500). -___-

Have you used the Tokina on the GH2? It's not so much the size but the weight. I find myself holding the lens rather than the camera most of the time. If you plan on using s35 sensors in the near future then the Tokina is the clear choice, but if you plan on sticking with m4/3 I much prefer the Olympus.

I'm the opposite. On my glide cam at least the gh2 seems way too light. I missed the weight of the t2i so much that i ended up putting 4 of the included washers on the top plate with the camera.

I supposed if you're shooting freehand then i definitely see why the weight would throw you off.

If you plan to Glidecam without adding copious amounts of auxiliary weights, then the Tokina is a better choice. Also I find 12mm to be too wide for shooting on a Glidecam without getting dangerously close to the skier. However the Olympus has a great autofocus tracking system which works well with a Glidecam.

You find 12mm to be too wide even with the crop? I'm not arguing, just wondering. I find my 17mm to be on the tighter side of follow camming, but that's what i like so it all works out.

Well the 12mm is an m4/3 lens so there is technically no crop... I found 14mm on my Tokina to be the best setting.

hehehe only kidding! After shooting with a fisheye over the weekend, I agree there is a point that's "too close for my comfort that my camera will remain safe if something goes wrong and that ski whacks me"

11mm on the Tokina is insanely wide even with the m4/3 crop. I can be two feet away from the skier and literally have their entire body in the frame. Not a good scenario when doing flying follow cams off tables/cliffs.

11mm is great for shooting rails, but I found myself shooting jumps at 16mm while following. Just food for thought.
