Women's slopestyle

tired of NBC talking about eileen gu non-stop, and then giving no info on any of the USA athletes. i get it, gu was born in the USA but come on man

dude they have done literally 0 segments on the US athletes and just keep talking more about eileen gu, this is absurd

This course Lowkey looks awful.. like the design of it is really rad with the Great Wall and everything but from what I’m seeing, everyone is having a hard time with landings, speed, etc.. maybe I’m just blind but do y’all see this too???

Dude I’m sure the fact that it’s -22 isn’t helping anything either

The course looks great in my opinion. The rails look ?. I’m sure the cold is the problem. I suck when I’m super cold; I feel super stiff and my reaction time slows down.

Eileen’s double grab looked like she used to safety grab to pull to Japan.. not a double grab…. But this Australian dude just creamed when she landed that simple cork 9 at the bottom

Edit: she went for Japan and accidentally grabbed safety

She does a saftey to japen dub 10, she did it in big air.

That being said, they gave her 2nd which I thought was fair, I feel like Johanne got a really low score.

Yeah I think Johanne def got jipped, that run was solid

Great skiing all around, super proud of everyone. Can't believe Anastasia landed a 1440 first try on her last run.

Johanne’s dub 10 was sick af, judges totally fucked her. The other girls at the bottom were sooo stoked when they saw she landed that

It’s cold here, I’m sure it contributed to some speed issues.

bummer to hear about NBCs coverage being stupid, I’m here doing the host coverage, and we’re providing a non biased coverage with no stupid cuts.

I feel Anastasia should have crunched that 3rd tho, Kelly does have clean runs, but no off axis spins or anything.

it’s hard to say who should have held those top spots, both Norway and GB also threw down some amazing runs, and got robbed.

but it’s finals, things need to be clean I guess.

Spare thoughts:

Tess teaching her grandmother how to do backflips rules. It was too bad she wasn't able to put down a clean run, though.

It really bums me out when riders bail out of everything after a single mistake - it makes freeskiing seem so much more regimented than it is.

It was nice to see judges not penalize Kelly for the binding malfunction on her second run.

That dub 14 came out of nowhere - doing that for the first time on the final hit of your final run of the Olympics is incredibly gutsy.

I'm not sure how Mathilde's run beat Eileen's, but I guess it was close.

Edit:

If y'all are getting shit NBC coverage, are you watching on a TV, or computer? I'm watching Peacock on my laptop and the coverage didn't have any weird cuts or massive Eileen Gu favoritism. Dylan's not a great commentator, though.

The NBC prime time coverage with Tommy Wallisch was what I was watching mostly, and had the nonsense Eileen gu stuff and missed half of people’s runs. The peacock stream was much better
