Women's Slope Discussion

So what you are basically saying is that a girl lacking fundamentals just with balls to throw down no matter what should get ahead with terrible form/style, sketchy lucky landings and no poles? That's the same weak excuse her coach told the media after she failed to qualify instead of admitting that others were simply better and deserved to go thru instead.

Don't mean to hate on her but honestly all the hype as to why she is considererd such a standout here is beyond me. Only trick which sets her somewhat apart is her dub 12 - which she hasn't been able to repetitively show during comps and therefore being breadless art so far. She's only leading the FIS world cup standings because of winning a FIS event in absence of the truly best (Dara, Maggie, Kaya + injured Tiril ect.) who competing in X games where she wasn't even considered good enough to be invited to. Can't see her having any impact at least on the slopestyle scene except maybe they introduce a big air comp.

Girl skiers take note - what we saw last night in the men's slopestyle competition is PROGRESSING THEIR SPORT!!!! What you girls do is NOT PROGRESSING YOUR SPORT!!!! You want equal prize money, equal recognition and equal respect then stop doing runs that can be done by competent 13 year old boys!!! Nothing pisses me off more than guys now needing all way doubles to compete yet you girls are still satisfied with predominantly 5's, 7's. Maggie Voisin really upped the ante at this year x games and for your sport to grow her run should be the minimum that is required to compete.

Oh and one more thing, Dara Howell take note of Joss Christianson last night because that is how you do a victory lap and celebrate a win!!!

Where the fuck did you read that I think women can't do dubs? Never said I thought they couldn't do it, I just pointed out how retarded it is to compare men's and women's slope.

"What im trying to say is that the women are capable of so much more than what they do." you then said "Are you seriously insinuating that Olympic athletes at the peak of their sport aren't trying or "are capable of so much more"." So yes woman can be doing more you are wrong.

She has the fundamentals, that's why she's pushing herself and ergo women's skiing to throw bigger and more technical tricks instead of playing it safe. Yes the results will be sketchy at times -also chalking it up somewhat to her young age and nerves- but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

Also don't see how poles/no poles has anything to do with this.

My mum watched women's slope and it blew her mind what they were doing.. I can't wait till she sees one of the men's runs.
