Sorry I don't know ANYTHING about women's skis or sizing. Maybe try posting in the Lady Gabber forum section as well. If you're friend is a beginner though, shoot for a ski that covers beginner through intermediate on the charts on ski buying websites. That way she will have a ski that will last her a while through her progression in abilities. The ski should generally be on the flexier side versus stiff and have a short turn radius. Also shorter skis will be easier to turn. She should probably stick to groomed terrain until she is strong enough of a skier to go off piste; otherwise it will be a disaster and waste of your day.
I think I may have misread your post assuming your friend is a beginner by the way it was worded.
