Woman dies over Nintendo

I dont know where it happened, but on the news it just said that some lady entered a water-drinking contest. The winner got to keep a Nintendo and she held it in too long and died.

oooooh the japs are getting to us right under our noses!
 
today my brother called and woke me up to pick him up so we coulld go get a wii becasue he assured me that they would have some. i drove all the way into town and picked his ass up drove to the store to find out htey never got any and then i am heading home and he makes me turn arround to drop him off at school wich was o far out of the way and it ended liek two hours before. heds a little bitch.
 
I didn't even know you could die from drinking too much water...I mean your body is pretty much made up of the stuff.

I thought you would just throw it back up before you would die. Wouldn't your body try to extract it? You'll definitely see this if you watch people to those Gallon milk chugs, they'll blow it everywhere before they start to die.
 
thats nothing...i just saw something this morning on the news that someone in order to get a free ps3 gave up their baby for like a week. it was like a 2 month old given to some random dude. just for a video game
 
your mom isnt that cool either, but everyone in the neighborhood still wants to play with her wii.
 
Ok I was reading over that coke machine thing and I have to say that's the dumbest shit EVER.

No offense to the fam or the kid, just if you rock a 900lb machine, and then when you realize its about to fall, and DONT GET OUT OF THE WAY. Honestly.

It's just silly. Leave the machines alone, what'd they ever do to you.

The fam putting that site online is like adding insult to injury too. Would you want to publicize the fact that your son killed himself because he wanted a soda SO badly that he shook the machine till it fell?

Yeh anyway it sucks and if there is anyone here who knows someone who has died in a soda machine accident, or have a fam member or something who has, do us all a favor and please don't have kids.

SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- A woman who competed in a radio station's contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner's office said Saturday.

Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.

"She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad," said Laura Rios, one of Strange's co-workers at Radiological Associates of Sacramento. "She was crying, and that was the last that anyone had heard from her."

It was not immediately known how much water Strange consumed.

A preliminary investigation found evidence "consistent with a water intoxication death," said assistant Coroner Ed Smith.

John Geary, vice president and marketing manager for Entercom Sacramento, the station's owner, said station personnel were stunned when they heard of Strange's death.

"We are awaiting information that will help explain how this tragic event occurred," he said.

Initially, contestants were handed 8-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes.

"They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy," said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. "They told us if you don't feel like you can do this, don't put your health at risk."

Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. "My bladder couldn't handle it anymore," he added.

After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink.

"I was talking to her and she was a nice lady," Ybarra said. "She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for her kids."

Thats because when milk hits your stomach acid it actually congeals into a semi solid form. Your stomach litterally fills up with the expanding milk and your body, in response, purges the blockage.
 
he is japanese. if you brushed up your history you would know that the japanese aren't too fond of the korean people.
 
i dont really think the Wii is all that cool, its fun for a while but not something you'd want to sit and play for long periods of time
 
they were talking about that on opie and anthony this morning, it was a radio station stunt or something like that
 
thats nuts.. i had to do this research thing for a class about violent video games and some little kid who was messed up used the game Manhunt to kill his friend, he told him to meet him at a park and killed him there, so sad
 
people die every day in mass quantities. now if we could only find a way to reduce the amount being born...
 
i saw this on the news too, its insane to hear someone that died from too much water drinking. seems so rare.
