KEYSTONE — A father was "shocked" last weekend when a local deputy called asking whether his son was having a sex change operation, according to a report from the Summit County Sheriff's Office. The trouble started when a woman was caught at Keystone Resort trying to use the ski pass of a man named Daniel. When asked for a date of birth, she complied but "was slow to recall it," according to the report. The woman claimed to be in the middle of a sex change. The deputy asked for the parents' phone number and the woman gave it to them. Daniel's father answered and said he knew nothing of a sex change. He also called the Summit County Communication Center to verify that the deputy was legitimate. an hour later, the Keystone supervisor told the deputy there was a phone number on Daniel's ski pass file. The deputy called the number and Daniel answered, informing the deputy that he had given the pass to his girlfriend, Wanda. The woman spoke with Daniel then told the deputy that she was actually Wanda. She was arrested and booked on charges of theft of more than $500 and criminal impersonation.

keystone and Breck have turned so gay about that shit, every time you get in line and get your pass scaned they ask you a question or just look at your face and make sure its you, its like there turing into cops and its so gay. im pretty sure that every time one of there lift ops catches someone doing it they get a BIG bonus. its not chill at all

yea even when you do have your own pass its annoying as hell. im not going through the damn airport, im going skiing.

hefty punishment. seems like they should only be able to collect the price of one lift ticket as a fine not a total $500

Probably over the value of the seasons pass.

I know at Snoqualmie/Alprental the lifties get 50 dollar bonus's for ever fake ticket/ wrong pass etc... that they find and turn in. It is a business though, and just because skiing is supposed to be a "chill" sport, doesn't mean that companies shouldn't protect their product. Its probably become a bigger problem and that's why they have upped the security.

they get $50 for every one they catch. No joke. I use to be a lift op like four years ago. It was my only option after snowmaking ended.

@ Mt Snow last year i got pulled off to the side by a liftie and told to take my hat and goggles off even after i gave them my birthday. it was a 10 minute ordeal. the girl was such a cunt too. she thought she had me and was kinda dissappointed when she realized it was me. some of the lift people take their job way too fucking seriously.

The scanners generally get 20-50 bucks when they catch someone. If you ever use a pass that isn't yours make sure you have 80 bucks in cash in your pocket, know the info on the pass and go to young scanners. If you are over 30 and a scanner odds are you a complete dick who likes the super limited amount of power you have. If you get caught instantly take out the 80 bucks and bribe the guy do one run and split.

In the end you are a lot better off showing up at noon and clipping tickets.

Wow are you serious, i used to ski at a place where I was never checked but where I am at now they are really strict.

ahahha all i need to do is say hello to sexy lady and she allows me entry not only to the lift, but also to her vagina

We got 30 bucks a pop for season passes. when you are making 8.50 an hour and paying a shit load for rent, 30$ extra for catching people is great. Usually most of us would let people slide if they were cool. But some people are idiots. I caught a white guy using an asians guy pass, a fat woman using a skinny mans pass, etc.

and clipping tickets may work some times but, we get 20$ for every clipped ticket we catch. and yes, THEY can tell if its you or not. The scanners store all the scans on those tickets. Lets say you clipped a ticket from someone who was first scanned in on summit X at 9:05 AM. Our scanners tell us that.

wait im confused how that would help you. why couldnt you be in one place at 9:05am and another place a few hours later? maybe im missing something.

wow they take that shit way too seriously with the full fledged investigation and all.

Im all for supporting my local hill but I dont have that kind of money so I buy the stict minimum I need to ski.lets put it this way, I would rather give them some money with the ocasional ticket, cheapest pass available and cafeteria money than giving them no money at all/ not ski because I cant afford it

yeah i just got got using a friends pass last weekend... gave me 2 options only... call the police and i get a misdemeanor for theft of a service.. which would have been a fine, and i would of had a court date 3 hours away from where i live. or i could pay 200 bucks as a fine and then buy a lift ticket for the day i was skiing which was another 70 bucks.

The gay part is the security guy said they almost always just give the season pass holder his pass back... sometimes they make them wait a couple weeks. but now after the fact... they wont let my friend get his pass back and said they wont let him buy one at the resort next year... after i just paid almost $300 for nothing... fucking retarded.

and i have a season pass to two other resorts so dont jump on me for that.. we'd just switch to change things up a bit

I remember a few years back my bro and I had season passes to the local resort here in Vegas (very shitty place). We bought season passes and realized halfway through the season they offered free lift passes for shop employees (both of us work at a shop here). The manager of the mountain knew both of us since we rode so often and he even offered us both jobs as techs up there.

Now to the situation: one day my bro forgot his season pass on another jacket and didnt realize this until we rode a few chairs (nobody was checking passes since they all knew us). Some new liftie started his shift, checks for passes, and when he found out my bro didn't have his he got all nasty and sent us to the manager's office.

We came into the manager's offce and the manager SNATCHED my brother's snowboard! Manager threatened to keep the board until my brother paid DOUBLE the normal lift ticket price. After arguing with the guy for about an hour we got out of there only having to pay normal lift ticket price and since then we have never been to the local resort.

The lifties and pass checkers at Vail resorts (keystone, beck, vail etc) are paid extra when they find people using other peoples passes. No biggie, they are just protecting their business, there is no free lunch.

Friend got her pass pulled at Vail last weekend. 30 year old doucher of a lifty called her out on using someone else's pass in a second. Lost the pass, plus a 300 dollar criminal fine.

It's fair for the basin to take the pass, but criminal charges? Really?

Getting so gay now. Lifties get commission for being a jew and stealing peoples passes. I would recommend just running away if the lifties start questioning you. Why can't there just be a mountain that strictly cares about providing a cool place for people to ride.

my friend got caught trying to "green" pass his way on. Ran away. Got caught. (Ski boots are slower to run in than shoes) Got questioned by the police. Got banned from the resort for the year. Had a friend working in passes. Got a new pass instead. Guess it would have just been easier to go the friend in passes in the first place, but then the story wouldn't be as funny (especially if you had been there)

I never caught it, but guys I worked with were GOOD.

the scanners tell you what time the ticket was bought and what lift it was first used on. So you ask about those two things.

Some mountains used to do skier or snowboarder printed on it even years ago. But you could always say you do both.

I usually ask for a zip code when I buy a ticket in the lot just in case
