I live in denver and I am debating whether to go to Wolf Creek tomorrow.
Pros:Skiing is so fun and I love itUnconfirmed that there will be powderAdventures
Cons:Cost of gas is a strainWill the roads be bad? Will the crowds be bad?Midterms next week :(
what should I do NS

Are you fucking serious? Go skiing you twat. It's supposed to be 70 and sunny here in Vermont tomorrow, and I get to spend the whole day in a kitchen. You better ski.

be careful. my buddy and I went last year pre-season and he suffered a pretty gnarly accident (shattered his knee cap on a rock), so definitely ride like it's preseason conditions, don't be fooled by the new snow...

36 inches.......not 36 inches of fresh on an established base of snow, but 36 inches on top of previously bare ground.

Are you kidding?

Go, man. If I wasn't working I'd be there for sure. If they are open Monday, I'm leaving Sunday night, fuck it.

I agree with everyone. No one should go. It's only 3 feet on bare ground, there's no fun to be had.

Hahah this.

Mt.baker usually opens up when they get around 36-48 inches. If mt.baker can open up and have it not to dangerous. Then a CO ski resort can definitely open. Idk how rocky it is at wolf creek but generally that amount of snow is fine...

I'm spending my day tomorrow in a tee shirt moving shit around in a ski shop, and I will probably be doing tricks onto the bootfitting platform all day. If there is a single person who doesn't have a legitimate reason why the cannot ski tomorrow and does not go, I have no respect for you.

Do this for me and Molkstork, we can't ski.

I, who will be making bagels and getting bitched at by old people tomorrow, agree with this statement.

If you love skiing I'm sure you'll have an awesome time.

why is this a question at all, seriously your thinking of not skiing cuz gas is kinda pricey and it might be a little slippery?

See, this just makes me happy. Of course, I'm bummed that I worked on a sunny warm day in VT today instead of ski, but it makes me happy to know that you guys got out there and killed it on a pow day.

Amazing.

without a doubt the best first day I've ever had. wolf creek gives 0 shits about how filled in their terrain is. anyone else hike out to the peak? pretty much like 2 lines that didn't traverse through rock

why wouldnt you ski? My "Mountain" doesnt open for 2 more months so take advantage of this early season.

You guys sound like fucking old dudes that ski at deer valley. Use a pair of beat-up skis that you don't care if they inflict damage. God damn.

i'm sorry but this is the most retarded post i've ever seen in my short presence on newschoolers. you could be skiing while im inside with BSTL (balls stuck to leg) cuz it'll be 70 in pittsburgh you fuck. Please go. for the love of god go.

They had an amazing base. Apart from the first 3 or 4 runs, I was in the trees. I hit one small rock the entire day. I wasnt worried about hitting anything at all

no, I don't think you understand. It was sick the way they opened EVERYTHING up. The main runnout had a waterfall and creek down the middle that everyone was skiing through, nothing was even marked. Like people would roll up, and be like "damn, I'm standing 20 feet above a waterfall on a sheet of rock". It was sick.

I had to gap an irrigation ditch full of water my last run. Every run had literally endless features because of this stuff.

I didnt go and I nailed my midterm. Now I can get a job and buy a house at wolf creek and a helicopter
