To whom it may concern,
I may not know all of the details of the lawsuit that Warren Miller Entertainment (WME) has thrown at Josh Berman (Level 1 Productions) but I do know that it is a direct attack on SKIING!
Level 1 has been making ski movies for 10 years and they are at the forefront of the sport; making movies that not only appeal to the youth and the new skiing movement but also transcend to all age groups of skiers and even non-skiers. Everyone that sees a Level 1 movie can appreciate something, whether it is the athletics on display or the cinematography; both are world class. Even Warren Miller himself has chosen Level 1 as a more appropriate outlet than WME.
To say that Level 1 is causing "irreparable damage" to WME is beyond an outlandish statement. WME is causing this damage to their own name by attacking a company that has given so much to the skiing community. I'm not denying that WME has given to the skiing community in the past but this lawsuit proves that they have lost touch with the goals and ideals that a company in this industry should have.
I know for a fact Level 1 did not promote the involvement of Warren Miller in their film "Refresh" at all, nor did they ever claim to be associated with WME in any way. I am an athlete appearing in their film and I had no idea about Warren Miller's involvement until the premier (I was not in attendance but have heard from online media).
I hope you can reconsider this lawsuit and we (the skiing community) can get back out there on the slopes and continue doing what we love!
Sincerely,
Michael Riddle

emailed WME and posted as a review on the WME facebook fan page:

Your company has lost whatever credibility it had left (not much). Josh Berman and Level 1 Productions have for years made films that capture the creativity, camaraderie and overall enjoyment of the sport. Your company has not made a legitimate ski movie for a decade. You should be ashamed of yourselves for attempting to halt the progression and exposure of our sport. The future of skiing lies in the hands of people like Josh Berman, and him including a legend such as Mr. Miller in his film would have done nothing but make the next generation of skiers curious about this man. It would have most likely led to an increase in the circulation of whatever terrible movie you have made this year, however, the damage you have done to your reputation will not be repaired with the new generation of skiers.

I was at the Level 1 world premiere in Denver recently, and I can assure you that there was a genuine excitement in the crowd when Mr. Miller's voice was first heard. No one was thinking "Man, this really damages WME's reputation." The general consensus was how great it was that a legend of the industry was reaching out to a new generation. Perhaps if your company understood where the sport is heading, you would realize that Miller's voice in a Level 1 movie is the best thing to happen to your company in who knows how long because no one pays attention to your company except gapers from New Jersey and Texas. If your company sincerely cared about the sport, you would drop this ridiculous lawsuit now and pay Mr. Berman and Level 1 Productions a hefty sum of money for the best advertising your company has received in years.

Threads for later response. I dont normally become involved in things like this on NS but this is just far too outrageous to not do anything about.

Much respect to Mike Riddle for handling things in an appropriate manner. I really hope all this input being sent toward WME has an effect on them. FREE L1P!

That is the best way to make your point. Being respectful when you write to them is more effective then one full of FUCK YOU!!

Way to support Level 1 in their time of need

To whom it may concern,What is it with this lawsuit against Level 1? Because of this attention grabbing scheme you're pulling alot of people are going to start hating you guys and you will probably lose soo many customers. We are all one big family of skiers and bringing lawsuits to the mountain is messed up. If I were to create a grab or rock my own style and I saw someone else do the same grab that I created or wear the same stuff as me i'm not gunna say, HEY THATS MINE NEVER DO IT AGAIN OR ILL SEW YOU or TAKE IT OFF THATS MY STYLE. All you guys want is attention and its crap. STOP! PS- I lost whatever respect I had for you guys and was planning on buying "children of Winter" but now HELL NO! Sincerely, Michael Maniscalco

People, please remember to write mature, polite e-mails and letters. Those are the opinions and messages that count.

Don't throw ridiculous accusations around, don't insult them, express your view and ask them politely to drop their lawsuit. That's how you get through.

And for the love of god use spellcheck and proofread your e-mails/letters.

Dear Warren Miller Entertainment,A frivolous lawsuit against an exceedingly well-liked, youth-oriented company is no way to penetrate the under 25 demographic. Perhaps you are unconcerned with turning cold shoulder toward skiers of this category, though the haste with which you filed you lawsuit leads me to believe that your actions were committed little forethought. It is my suspicion that you have not considered the magnitude of the response your actions will engender ,not only from skiers under 30, but from the entire skiing community. Do not underestimate the extent of your insult to skiers across the globe. As I write, your sponsors are receiving countless letters of complaint for their support of a company which has shown disregard and disrespect for the sport of skiing. I ask you to reconsider your suit against Level One Productions. -Geoff

Twitter is another place to begin raising PR hell for WMEG. To make it easier to get information out, tweets about the lawsuit should include the hashtag #supportL1P or #wmeglawsuit.

To Whom This May Concern,

In regards to the current issue of WWE vs. L1P, I would like to address the situation concerning the Warren Miller voice throughout the Level 1 Productions film "Refresh".

Level 1 has been producing ski films for the past ten years and breaking boundries with the video footage shown in the videos over the years. From what I read on the situation, Warren Miller decided to be the voice throughout the L1P video "Refresh".

Reading an article on the WWE case, it says that WWE has called using the voice of Warren Miller to cause "irreparable damage". I want to know what damage has been caused by using the voice. From what I understand, Warren Miller himself does not work for Warren Miller Entertainment anymore. If it wasn't for Warren Miller and his love for skiing, Warren Miller Entertainment wouldn't be as large as it is today. I have watched Warren Miller films over the last seven and eight years which have proven to be a well received ski movie and company. With this current outrage on L1P however, I believe your company is going in many wrong directions that what Warren Miller himself would have thought was appropriate.

In today's society where even a man's voice becomes property shows that our world is becoming more and more materialistic than need be. Because of material items, such as Warren's voice, our country is forgetting the more important problems currently approaching. Granted, money is what makes our society function better than ever, but money is also the central problem in the case of the Warren Miller Entertainment vs. Level 1 court case. I used to think skiing was one of the "free" areas I could get out of the world's problems but anymore, problems seem to follow everything.

Many of the ski community I associate with, which is larger than 100,000, believe Warren Miller Entertainment needs to reconsider the case against L1P.

In todays world, it is too short to worry about one man's voice. Instead of trying to sue one of the most influential video companies in the ski industry towards the younger generation, try and one up it. By producing a better video, it would associate Warren Miller Entertainment with a better light than trying to take out a progressive ski production company.

According to a quote from Warren Miller himself, "Knowing where we sit, we don't want to dig the hole deeper. If everybody is reasonable, it should be a fairly easy fix."

So Warren Miller Entertainment, listen to the man that made you big, and realize what you are doing for the sanity of the skiing population.

Thank you for your time.

To Warren Miller entertainment,

This e-mail is in regards about the problem that your having with Level

1 productions. I am not fully sure of the reason why you are trying to

destroy level 1. Level 1 has been one of the top ski film makers for the

last ten years. Their films have been enjoyed by park rats and backcountry

skiers alike. The fact that you are suing them for using Warren Miller

himself is ridicules. The fact that Warren Miller doesn't want to be a part

of your films anymore shows how much your company has screwed up. Warren

Miller has been making ski movies for as long as I can remember and even

before I was born. However, the films have been slowly getting worse and

worse now that he isn't part of you anymore. It almost seems like your

trying to get back at him for leaving you but this is not the way to do it.

I have supported you guys for the last ten years and have gone to every

premier since I can remember, however I cannot seem to do that this year. I

am personal friends with Finn Anderson and really looked forward to

supporting him too but that's not going to happen. You are going to loose a

lot of business with this. I hope you realize what a mistake this is and I

really hope you change your minds.

Your fellow skier,

Jason Shaughnessy

Honestly i think the more e-mails the better..They probably won't take the time to read every single one of them anyways. If there are a good amount of coherent, insightful e-mails, I think that will do. What I'm trying to say is that just because someone doesn't have a big vocabulary or good spelling it doesn't mean they shouldn't still voice their opinion towards WME and their pending lawsuit w/ Level One. Once they see the tremendous outcry from the ski community with hundreds or maybe/hopefully thousands of e-mails, they will have to understand that what they are doing will hurt them more than it will help.

sent my email, basically said my mom watched your movies when she was in high school and so did I but unless you drop the suit I will not buy another movie or support your sponsors. Its bad for the sport to see this.

guys, copy pasting is a horrible idea. when they get 3000 of the same email it shows us as lazy, and most likely not willing to actually hold up on our threat of boycott. by typing your own individual email your threat will be taken much more seriously. an on top of that PROOFREAD. please try and sound somewhat educated and rational. you can sound upset, but not like an irrational moron.
