Wish Jackson Hole would get off their high horse

Ok let me being with with saying WTF cares if Jackson Hole had their biggest opening ever. Every body is making this huge deal out of Jackson having the most epic of epic openings with so much snow and all this when WE out in the PNW have had more snow fall than them up until this current store cycle. We are not rushing to open our ENTIRE mountain on opening day just to say that we can, were leaving most stuff open as BC access and letting things actually fill in properly before opening it up the the masses o and not to mention Jackson needs a whole lot more snow before anything good is ready to be dropped/shredded. I'm tired of everyone thinking Jackson is the US's premier ski destination and I know that most NS's have never set foot at the base of the tram, well I have an personally I was not super impressed with what they had to offer nor was I impressed by the super entitlement vibe I got from all the rich locals who think that if you cant afford to buy the $1570 season pass, well you should GTFO. Screw Jackson hole I'm gunna stick to my local resorts in Montana and the PNW.

--> begin hate here

I guess I don't really understand what you are upset about, I think it's pretty rad that any resort, regardless of whether or not it's my home mtn, could open 100% of their terrain so early in the season. why not be stoked?

I dont care that a "mountain resort" opened with 100%.

A wise man once said " don't be a hater."

it definitely is.

btw, sounds like youre a bit jealous man. i know i am but chill a bit.

Just be glad your mountain is open still because my friends back home in the Midwest mountain doesn't open for most likely another week.

I ski at Big Sky just for reference and have more than enough fun on Challenger and the triple until they get around to opening up Shedhorn and Dakota sometime in January.

be thankful you ungrateful prick. i haven't s fucking flake of snow yet this year and i'm about to fucking explode. my home mountain is practically a hill and has two trails open. suck it up.

Yeah I definitely like skiing challenger and triple... def fun.
I was up at Bridger all last week hiking and the apron and everything north was soooo sick. The coverage is great so far this year...

Jackson is a pretty sweet mountain. You can take the tram up, step into your skis, go straight out of bounds, and shred 4,000 vertical feet. You can hike as far as you want, you can drop into Granite, you can do a 20 minute boot pack up to Cody Peak. They also have some really nice inbounds terrain. I don't think it is the best resort in North America, but don't act like it's not the shit. The terrain, snowfall, out of bounds access, and the talent of locals makes it a pretty sick place to ski. If you weren't impressed when you went, you obviously didn't know where you were going.

Also, sometimes the Jackson attitude can be a bit much, but it's no worse than other bigger Western mountains I've been to. I think people are usually cool if you are respectful to them.

Come on..... Nothing compares to Jackson for big mountain skiing. The pacific sometimes has really sketchy conditions like Whistler last year in the Olympics. Jackson Hole is going to stay this good all season. They might have a down week in a week or two but not a whole month of just shit and rain.

What are you talking about Jackson Hole was one of the most fun places i have ever been to. An everyone there are just skiers, and most of the locals are extremely chill so i have no idea what your talking about. If you didnt enjoy skiing at JH thats your problem but no need to diss the mountain because they were stoked on how much snow they had when they opened

Stay in Montana then if you're gonna be a whiny little bitch. I'm sorry you can't get over the fact that people are excited for early season snow.

Dude, I just think people are stoked. Those same people are probably stoked that the PNW is getting pounded. I do not think any of the hype I have seen was meant to piss people off. Having ridden here for the last fifteen years it was pretty exciting to ride a tram in November and start riding top to bottom. It was really fun and I think that is all people are celebrating. I hope the entire globe has a historical winter!!!!

^ i am hoping so. but i mean two days ago it rained like 2 or 3 inches and they just started blowing snow last night. I get to watch you guys talk about all the pow your getting and our resort probably wont open for another week. and it wont even be all ten of their trails. I need to get out of ohio....

I don't necessarily think its TGR or Jackson Hole (social media image) but its the fan boys.... they really really are getting to me they disregard all other ski regions in the US

But you have you have to admit there are some of those same guys who ski at Bridger also. The "My mountain is the best there is and if you don't believe that than get the fuck off my mountain" guys are everywhere.

But there are douche bag locals are every mountain you just have to look past them and have a good time because you can't let other people ruin you from having a good time at a sick mountain.

who gives a fuck. all the big resorts do it man. whistler, aspen, mamoth. what are supposto to say, we are having an average opening that will probably result in a average winter. your a dumbass, take a marketing class

your mad because people are stoked about a solid opening? who cares!? and besides jackson is one of the sickest places ive ever skied

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? I wen't to jackson two years ago at march break with my dad. Skiing was amazing! and everyone was pretty friendly.

As much as I love Baker, this is pretty much spot on. And if Jackson had their biggest opening weekend on record, they should totally celebrate that. That's totally sick.

Gnarly terrain is gnarly terrain, doesn't matter if you are in the PNW or here in the Alps. Be psyched about it and don't worry about it, because someone is always going to say their mountain is better than yours. And sometimes it's probably true.

Maybe its money dictated? Some resorts make sure the early season and opening day are worth the money by opening more than 2 or 3 runs.

Whoa there Buddy, take it easy. I know that it's tough seeing a place not very far to the south having an epic early season, but really? All you are doing is creating an unnecessary thread that most people on here scoff at.
And what more, your from Montana man! I'd hate to see a skier from the same state as I, commit karma suicide on here and send bad vibes to many of the other MT residents here. That's not how we roll in this state...
Be thankful for the amazing season we are having already man, and be patient, there is more to come.

hahahaha um Fuck you. Everything is as filled in as ever!!!! And you prob didnt know your way around so obviously you have no idea what we have to offer. You sound like one of those people I wouldnt want on my mountain anyway and I bet any local 8 year old in jackson could beat you down the mountain. Damn your ignant. Ummmm how much did my pass cost? drumroll please... $275. Either your trolling or you have some legit mental problems. You GTFO

How bout post this shit in regionals cause I doubt 90% of this site gives a shit, cause 90% doesn't ski there.

yeah there's a scene in jackson. but does that make the mountain any less sick? no. Jackson is sick. Id definitely live there if I could

Jackson is amazing! dude quit hating that place is so sick ive been there 3 times before and wouldnt want to ski anywhere else yes there are alot of rich people but its not all rich people there are a bunch of reaelly chill people we stayed there for fairly cheap and got great snow each night id rather pay for a trip to jackson than to keystone or brek

lol All those rich people with $1500 passes! They must make at least.................8 dollars an hour to save that much! Ridiculous my mom wont even give me HALF THAT! GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE

Im from the east coast and I take a vacation out west every year. Jackson is my favorite mountain out of everywhere ive been... CB, Alta, Steamboat, Vail, Telluride, Park City, Canyons, you name it... Jackson is the fucking shit

I guess I can see where you are coming from, but a few years ago when all I'd ever skied was small ass mountains with one or two lifts, going to Jackson was insane. The terrain and the snow are both wicked.

Basically I somewhat agree, but give credit where it is due.
