I just bought a linksys wireless router and a wireless card. And I'm having problems with the card. So I was wondering if anyone knows whether its worth it or not?

i have the same problem u do man.. i have a netgear wireless router, i am getting a strong signal... but its not actually connecting.. i think it is something with the IP address

make sure both your card and base are using the same channel. if you are using linksys for both ends then they should come factory on channel 1 but I wouldnt know without looking. but thats the first thing I would check. Also try configuring everything in the same room to get it working then spread them out. Called Staging and easiest way to setup a wireless network incase you have something blocking your signal and saves alot of walking

you would think that you would ask if it was worth it before you bought it
for convenience with a laptop yeah they are good...but if you have a desktop I really dont see the point. you can do a wired setup for less then $50...why spend $150+ on wireless

if you have windows 2000/xp then put it back in the box and bring it back. if they ask you why say your too stupid to use it.

Personaly I believe my short term memory has been affected but that is the main side effect and I also think maybe my short term memory has been affected.
