MN_Nice Active member Mar 13, 2011 #2 Are you sure a normal remote wouldn't work for starting and stopping the shutter?
Lifestyles Member Mar 13, 2011 #3 honestly i have no clue, the camera is on order, and im just trying to find if or what kind of remote to order.

TijmenDal Active member Mar 13, 2011 #6 I reckon it should. A normal wireless remote can trigger the shutter, so why wouldn't it work for video mode?

Lifestyles Member Mar 14, 2011 #10 Alright thanks, I emailed canon and they said the rc-6 remote will work. Unfortuantely the range is only 16 ft on it.
