Winter/summer

im wondering...i live in US. and in new zealand its snowing and stuff there but its mad hot ther north/south hemisphere...

but do they call it winter there while its summer here? or is their summer cold and winter hot?

pretty stupid question...
 
its called winter down there our spring is their fall, or summer is their winter.

its just the opposite down south, probably once you cross the equator.
 
yeah but if you live real close to the equator, then the northern hemishphere's summer would probably be the exact same as the southern hemisphere's. because youre not that far apart. there isnt a definite line of cold once you cross the equator
 
In Aus/NZ it is winter at the moment, and in December it is summer.
