winter parks rasta huts

my friend was telling me about the rasta huts in winter park ( secluded huts that are a nice place to get high or score some brews) i know where a couple of them are, does any one know where some others are

it really doesseem liek they exist... since even in the eats we have a moutnian with one its just hardot find bcuz theyre usualy in the middle of the forest.

 
no ususally some guys go up the mountain in the summer w/ tarps and shit and just build them way back in the forest...ive seen many a hut on the mary jane side but go find them for yourself theres one double decker hut that is well worth the hunt

what other resorts have them, haha anyone seen any on the big resorts

copper has at least one....the ermine hut is just 2x4's, old ski poles, duct tape and tarps, but it holds up and i've got way high in there many times

Breck has the best smoke-shack out there, a little log hut with a roof and everything. Last season there was a rainbow log jib set up right in front of the hut. Dope indeed.

The only problem with the 'rasta huts' you speak of is that they are so great because nobody knows where they are. Unfourtunatley I wont be able to reveal the locations here, as that would ruin their secrecy.

I can tell you this, you need to do more tree skiing to find them. Look at trail maps and try to find remote trees that do not get skied often. I can also tell you that the're are smoke shacks at a lot of resorts-especially breck and vail- you just need to seek them out.

So, happy hunting. Hopefully we can meet up sometime in one of the shacks.

Alright, one hint... try looking around peak 9..and also around the E chair...

Since when are they called rasta huts? They've been smoke shacks as long as I can remember. You can find them at pretty much every ski area in the west.....where you can ski into the trees. I can count at least 5-6 (probably forgetting a few) at my hill. I've heard stories of double-deckers with wood stoves at some places. Ski patrol will tear them down at a lot of places.

yo there are seventeen huts in all and theyre not called fuckin rasta huts. theres a name for each one like 'no fat chicks hut' because its really small.... 'mary jane hut' because its on the mary jane slope and its the most likely place to get smoked out if you sit there along enough and the 'eagles nest hut' because its hard to get to and it sits on a cliff. and theres also the cliff hut. theres also one called the cliff hut... when i lived there there was still a perminant bar b que and bong that we left there because its so damn hidden. well anyway, all the huts are of course in the trees some are easy to get to some are alot more difficult. youre on youre own with finding them beause i havent lived there since i started school in the east. but ask some locals... but they probably wont help ya. wp is pretty territorial. um the mary jane hut is off of the mary jane slopebut its easier if you go on arrowhead it will be on your left and youll see some heavy tracks going into the trees which will lead you to the most common hut on the mountain. say hi to some ned and jeff the boston boys for me. late

 
there's a real easy one to find on MJ in the trees off the left side of columbine. it would only take you a few tries to find it

there is the one near the top of parsenns and the 'cliff hut' is sick shit! i could tell you, but i wont, i'll give you a hint though.... mushroom patch. thats all folks.

Yeah you are on your own dude but if you find the Verde you will be in for a treat. Take your shit with you though there is no reason something like this should get ruined.

 
there's also one off to the right of the park after 3-1 (the first of the three medium hits). it's only like half a hut but just thought i'd add it to the list. will someone please meet up with me next season and show me the cliff hut?

i say that the location of the huts remains a mystery. part of the fun is finding them yourselves and then when you get there, there aren't 20 other people there too. i definately have some sweet memories of time spent at one though...

 
seasons over i got 10 huts, hut in the sky or ' cliff hut' is the dopest, mushroom hut in between trestle and roundhouse was sick, some patroller busted out some purple sticky icky and smoked us up. the hut off the arrow lift had a rock inside that was a pipe itself. cant wait to find some more next season

no way, CB has the dopest smoke shacks in the world. Ive seen some sick huts on the west side of the mountain....its just too bad CB Ski Patrol keeps blowing em up....Oh well, we'll just build more.

If carrots got you drunk, rabbits would be fucked up.

Winter Park opens for the summer soon. There's a single track trail that goes right by the 'Verda' and I will be up there like every day making improvements, so try to find me. And we will blaze'!

 
Of course they exist son! I'll be standing at the entrance to a hut and a group of skiers will go by without even seeing what I'm standing in front of. I mean if you're struggling to find them, turn your head and look up behind you. Just be ready to ski anything in order to find the ones on the Jane side.
