im goin up to colorodo from the east cuz my sis is checkn out UC Boulder. how is winter park, never heard of it till now. i see steeps on the map...eh?

 
Yeah, it's pretty dope, but if you want steeps, try Crested Butte or Vail. Definitely Vail for all around.

Winter Park is sweet because it's in a different valley than the others so sometimes it gets more snow than the Summit County resorts. It's also frequenlty less crowded.

 
there's no way winter park is less crowded. everyone there seems to be a beginner, too.

winter park is def less crowded then vail/breck/keystone on weekends. the park was redone this year and is pretty decent..not comparable to breck but not bad. also, they do have the best snow of any of the front range resorts (right now at least)...i sound like a winter park rep or somethin...but really, it's chill and i like it the most (at least on weekends)

 
Pros and Cons for WP

Pro: Not crowded for the size of resort that it is.

Pro: Some sweet steeps, and bumps on the MJ side

Pro: 365' annual snowfall.

Con: Mostly Crappy park (they have some new rails that are sweet though).

Con: Winter park side is overall shitty, almost every run is a groomer, and all the jackholes ride there.

If you go to winterpark, stay on the mary jane side of the mountian, that's IMHO the best riding there.

 
im goin on wed so it shouldn't be too crowded. is there any fresh white stuff in the trees? (i know those places where everyone sux the trees are untouched. how are those steeps at the top? bumps fuk my back up but ill still hafta check em out

 
You can always find pow in vasquez cirque. It's a 1 mile hike to the first skiiable terrain, but if you are lucky ski patrol will tow you behind a snowmobile. Up in parsenn bowl if you drop to the left of the lift and follow the boundry down the trees on the left side are nice. If I'm riding there, and I'm not in the park I usually lap the sunny side and timberline lifts (at the top of mary jane).

 
does anyone know what the pipe is like in winter park??? i have a comp there and i was wondering how it was.

i skied there on sunday. the pipe is the worst pipe i've ever skied in my life. the walls are maybe 6 feet tall, maybe...and the transitions are non existent. it is also pretty short. it's really is horrible. it isn't even worth trying. afterwards you'll have just wasted your time. the park isn't the worst park ever, but is nothing to be proud of. it has two ok jumps at the end of it, but they're kind of small. i would just stick to mary jane, its not worth going over to winter park.

 
any one know marty zieff in winter park, he is an old dude that is a total badass, he won the berthod pass badass comp thing last year and he is 56.

It doesn't mention anything about the pipe on jibij, but it was off the hook, haha, huge 8ft walls with 20 foot trannys and about 200 ft long, definitely don't go there for pipe and park.
