Winter Park skiers?

theres some cool guys that work nights at snoasis. sam is the only one that skis though. nutting is there isnt he? saw him a few times. im there like every other weekend or on a big dumb.

after a big dump you will always see me at winter park riding trees at jane. but yea their park isnt as great as breck or keystones but winter park has a dope pipe and virtually no lift lines

There is no way you can say wp is overrated, it sucks. Dark Territory was okay 2 years ago, but this year even the jumps in there were lacking, nothing big, nothing fun. Railyard is not legit, just because 1 decent skier is there regularly doesn't make it legit.

yes railyard blows, but have you ever hit the trees at jane on a pow day? breck and key cant even compare to how sick it is.

True, but then I could say that doesn't compare to the trees at Jackson Hole, there isn't really a resort that has everything. But he was saying railyard was legit....

they don't have super light snow like we do in Colorado and Utah, or else you could say the same about mamoth as well.

haha, well i grew up in the PNW, so the light snow doesnt matter as much to me. though mammoth's terrain doesn't compare to whistlers.

to get this thread back on track, i skied at WP last year and i thought it was pretty good. maybe the park isn't as good as keystone or breck, but for my first year riding park it was totally adequate. plus there are some super fun pillowish lines if you know where to look for them. oh and the pipe is most always on point! anyways, i hate how WP is always hated on and disregarded, its a nice resort.

I've lived in Winter Park the last two winters, should be back this year as well.

I don't really get the hate on railyard, ok it's not Breckenridge or Keystone, but still, DT has some fun stuff for sure, and the bottom jumps are pretty damn big.

i skied wp almost all this year and it was alright but unless they get some cool features in the rail yard i going to the vail resorts, there is only so much you can do at wp. i must saw though my best days were at winter park. the best day i've EVER had was when they got 28 inches in one night

I ah the super pass last year so I hit wp 30 times or so. I basically gave up on park, maybe a run a day but nothing more because it was shit. I just hit Mary Jane, Eagle Wind, and hiked the cirque for dropping 30'+s and 60 degree pow....Wp is great....but not for park

haha huge claim...cirque doesn't get steeper than about 45, if that. And no 30 footers either. 20s at max, there isn't anywhere in co that gets to 60 in bounds...

i dont know the exact pitch but out of bounds to the skiers right of panoramic lift there looks to be some steep stuff.
and there is a 50 footer (i think, maybe 45) over at the chutes on MJ. the actual cliff is in bounds but you have to go out of bounds to hike up there.
the elevator chutes also has a 40 footer or so. and also has some pretty steep shit. not very long, but steep.

i dont like winter park becasue to many areas end in a really flat area and their park isnt that great. It is good for learning though. Mary jane is fun with new snow but i like breck, Abasin and keystone better, also you get the vail option with the other one pass

did you actually measure it? Or did you just guess? Or is that what winter park told you? Because most resorts lie about sizes on things like that. I measured a jump at a-basin last year that they claimed was 45, it was only 32 lip to nuckle. They may have measured nuckle to sweet spot but still. Unless you pulled out a tape measure and measured it then I find it hard to believe that size.

its a cliff not a jump... go look at it though. the one at the chutes is pretty large. somewhat flat landing though. and i have never seen a resort in any way endorse cliffs so why would they measure it?
who cares about size of cliffs though, WP has some of the dopest terrain around. tell me you dont want to hit this line

thats one of the easier lines but still hella fun. that was closing week too. we got dumped on.

this is the one at elevator chutes. its out of bounds though.
theres a chute to the skiers left of this that has some great pitch too it. and then to the skiers right theres some more gnarly drops and shit. fun little zone.

Hahah I know Im full of shit....Silverton gets up there though

Theres a thirty in the cirque but it takes a bit to get to...Its like 40 in the cirque :/

youre dumb, WP is sick. Early this year, one of their jumps was like 85ft. yes they made it smaller, but WP is legit for sure...i try to go there at least a few times a year.

I'm not saying they don't have great stuff. The only days I have been to WP I got lucky and get got atleast 9 inches. Great days. I am just doubting the intensity of what people were saying. I have only been to wp like 6 or 7 times, but I have never seen any 60 degree pitches or 50 foot cliffs.
