Winter Park Dark Territory

What does everybody think about the Dark Territory thing at Winter Park this year?

It looks like you have to watch a safety and ettiquet video, sign a waiver, and pay $20 to get a pass to get in. I guess it's going to be the bottom section of the park, with the biggest features.

What's everybody think? I guess it'll keep the gapers out, eh?

Sick, if everyone is on the same level it will be such a chill place to ride. No shit talking and lots of props, damn we need something like that.

^ But the rich kids might get their parents to sign and pay for them... I think they need to build a 20ft. wall at the start of the park and create a step-up over the wall. That would keep the gapers out, Berlin Wall style.

yeah or a moat with a single barrel 30 footer to get across. Ad sharks and electric eels and shit if you bail.

Dude you are talking about a 40ft. drop with a 5ft. gap between the lip and the landing... I don't know if you know how tall 40ft. is but... It's a lil' bit larger than the touch hole on your mommy.

Got some info on Dark Territory. 20 bucks is right for the season. they are adding a couple new replicates, along with some better rail lines for that section. It'll be the last section of the park. Word on the two jumps is that they'll be a 40-45ft. step down and a 60ft. step down, wider take offs, no poachers. Should be sick

what he means is a normal 40 ft table, but with a 5ft-long gap right after the takeoff, so alllllll the stupid idiots who let their 5 year olds ski to the top of the lip and fall off of it (if they even make it to the top) will see their children fall 30 feet to their deaths.

understand?

^if you went to winter park and saw the ridiculous amounts of little people who totally shouldn't be in the park you would consider it a small sacrifice.

seriously sometimes 50% of the people in winter parks park shouldn't be anywhere other than a green run

winter parks park is nutto its soooo packed. and everyone there threw either a 3 or a sw 180 thats it and there would be a few people throwin down 9s and 10s and big stuff but millions of youngins. most people there are skiiers though which is cool

These park passes are the best things to happen to terrain parks. I refuse to ride at places that don't have them.

When my old mountain, Blue, got it... at first we were all pissed. but then all of a sudden, there was no ghetto gapers lying on your landings with their parents sunbathing or whatever it is they do. Lines were shorter, everything was just so much more of a comfortable experience.

The thing is, all of you will get it and be pissed off about it. Think about the people that shouldn't be in there? they'll just be like "Oh well, i'll just go do something else.. this is way too annoying"

It keeps out the joeys. People like us are the only ones stupid enough to sit through all that crap just to ride a park.

Oh, and for all you winter park people, there's going to be a park update for them starting Dec. 1st...

and at one of our local hills marquette mountain, the park pass everybody was so pissed about gives the park manager all the funds he needs for new rails and jibs everyyear....instead of having to bang heads with the old guys in resort management.

So basically, park passes finance the park, and I am all for it.

damn dude im so syked. i got a rockymountain super pass (copper and winter park) and its going ta be amazing now. winter park is fun. specially tha two big jumps at the end

yep, i lived in summit and only made it too winter park for a week in april.......but I thought their jump line was nice, started at about 25 and five jumps later you had a 70 footer, NICE!!

whats wrong with 3s and sw180s? lol. I go there every spring break from Minnesota, and you're right about the crowdedness. But I throw 1s and 3s on the two kickers at the bottome - does that make me a gaper? lol. (I'm actually concerned here..)

no it doesnt, especially not if you have style. Whoever said that would be saying "that switch one was so sick" if it was a pro skier doing it so pay it no mind.

Glad to read all the discussion. let me clear things up.

$20 all season.Watch 20 minute video. sign a waiver. check - www.rlyrd.com for more details.

Aim is for 55 and 60 foot set-downs. 4-7 rails total. at least 3 replicates. Staircase rail. one replicate will be D-F-D-F-D single barrel.

$20 bucks is just enough to filter those who really want these style/size features.

i like gapping over gapers...scares the living shit out of them if they are like building a snowman on the table and u huck a 5 over them, they all think the end is coming. you fly, they cry. its fun.

i can't believe you people are bitching about $20. i'd pay more than that. if it were me i'd make it like that for the entire park/pipe, not just the bottom section.
